I love almost everything Foose does...it shocks me that people watch shows like Unique Whips...then you watch Overhaulin'...that guy has talent.

They brought it out to the VW Classic in Irvine this past weekend, very nice looking vehicle in person. Can't wait to see the episode but I'm stuck at work until midnight.

Aparently everyone loves Foose here, so I am going to be the naysayer...

      I don't like Foose's designs for a few reasons:

Every car he does has the same design and flow. 2 tone, huge rims. If you've seen one Foose car, you have seen them all and they almost look cartoony. He does his little scetch which usually involves a swept look and then he puts the Foose logo somewhere aweful.

The episode that I caught that really made hate him was when he took Force's old school bus from behind his building and the Foose'd the s*** out of it. Big stupid hubcaps with Foose on em, and made the bus look like it came out of a kids show. Pissed me the hell off when Force was saying about how much he cared about the bus, no others were available, and I just kept hoping that he would hate the new bus and punch Chip in the face.

      not thrilled with it either.

The extra skylights = stupid. to the poster that said "as long as it has 23 windows . . " well foose gave ya 25.

logo on front looks out of place, and changed an iconic part of the design.

Also, this thing was a nice og paint 21 window before foose got it. Not many "survivors" left.

its only factory paint once - after that, its a respray, no matter what.

The upside is the owner likes it, and really - thats all that matters. if anyone wants to see, hot dog fred takes it to most OCTO shows here in socal.

I just saw the show and I thought the results were great. yes, it's no longer original, but the original had rust through the floors and looked worn. Who cares if it's a bit different and resprayed, I think it's awesome!

anyone have any more high-res pics?

I'm surprised it didn't end up with chrome 20" wheels and a Pinto engine.

I really like it and to the person saying about the original paint and all. The car was pretty rough when they first started. It had primer covering up a bunch of rust spots on the "OG" paint. Also it the floor was swiss cheese.

    28. 11-15-2008 03:49 PM #28
and the floor could have been fixed pretty easily.

for the primered spots, they could have been repaired and had the paint blended. guys do it all the time with buses. i just wish they coulda started with something that had already been molested.

I don't think it looks so bad, at least he didn't put 20s on it or something. I agree that it didnt need extra skylights, though, but what i really like is how the exhaust is tucked in there so nicely. there's usually so much hardware there, its difficult to do anything with 'em.... and the moulding on the side gives it a little 50's flair.

what's interesting , though, is the paint job looks like alot of other cars he has done, however in this case its a factory scheme.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the results. Myself , I would have rather seen a nice resto with some limited and tasteful custom touches.

I also don't like the color scheme so much - but the colors are OK.

But if the owner is happy with it, then that's what matters most.
