Tonight when I got home we hopped in the GTI to go shopping and swung through the local donut shop to get coffee. When I rounded the corner I almost wrecked the car when I saw this.....

I was amazed to see a car like this in our area..not to mention the way cool old hauler it was on. Here is a few more pics for your viewing pleasure.

From top of the VW family to bottom...I think my GTI was feeling a little overwelmed

The damn brake rotors are bigger than my wheels

As it turned out, as I was walking to get the coffee they were coming out of Maple Donuts. I had a chance to talk to them and apologize for drooling on their car. They were really cool about it and said they have kinda gotten used to it. They were heading to the Pocono's for some sort of an Italian car meet/show. I have found it quite rare that people with high dollar cars like this are very friendly but these folks were the break from the norm. We talked for 10 or so minutes before they went on their way.

Ugh - the rims on the Lambo are disgusting.

I was going to say...horrifyingly bad wheels...which ruins an otherwise outstanding find.

I dunno, I guess those that can afford such toys probably could care less about the wheel tastes of us in the pauper-class.

As much as I would like to criticize the wheels, I can afford neither the Lamborghini nor the truck carrying it so I will keep my mouth shut.

    Nice find

I told the guy I was posting the pics in TCL and he said "cool whats that"? I gave him a brief descrition of TCL and he seemed eager to check us out. Hopefully we'll see a post soon about "check out my new shoes for the lambo"

The wheels on the Lambo are definitely like school on saturday, but the fact you referred to them as "rims", is disgusting...

Very cool hauler. Is it me or do those brakes look massive on the Lambo?

I too have seen this sweet car hauler. I prefer the porsche to the lambo, but beggars can't be choosers.

"The fact is that a car which works all the time is displaying what Charles Babbage called the 'unerring certainty of machinery'. But a car that breaks down, overheats and coughs when asked to move is displaying some peculiarly human qualities. Basically, it makes mistakes.... And that's how you can build a relationship with a car that that other people won't get." - Jeremy Clarkson

That's a sweet old International Car hauler, a guy from the Antique Truck club I belong to has a similar truck, only his is a wrecker IIRC. Interesting truck to ride in, the short hood is more disconcerting to me than any cab-over truck I've driven(okay, the only cab over truck I've driven).

This is a Fiat Ferrari team transporter from the 1950's.

Jon Shirley, former President and COO of Microsoft, owns its twin and uses it to transport cars from his collection to vintage race and rally events:

I've had the opportunity to view it both at his warehouse/showroom (shown here) and at various vintage events around the PNW. It's stunningly restored.
