Thread: Show me your Pit bulls

    1. 02-07-2009 04:18 PM #326
"ok to the haters of pitbulls.....tell me why more dog bites are caused by little ****s dogs? my sister and my sister in law both work in very well know hospitals her in Chicago. Both of them see tons of dog bits come in that are really bad. Most of them if not all are from dogs you would never suspect. Last year in both hospitals they had 3 bites out of thousands that where form a pitty bread.
So, now may I ask.....whats wrong with pit bulls? THEIR OWNERS!!! people who don't know how to own a dog should not own anything powerful like a pitty or a rotty or dobberman. Pitbulls for many many many years where rescue dogs, nanny dogs, served in the military. Helped in firehouses.
Pitties that are exercised regularly, and im not saying your toolish walks around the block, im talking about a good run, biking, rollerblading to drain that energy.....you will see how AWESOME and loving this breed is.
Exercise, Discipline THEN Affection is the key to any balanced dog (thank you dog whisperer)
Oh and besides being loyal and loving, they are by far the smartest......which is why pitties have always dominated in mental tests. the facts are on the web, all you haters need to do is stop being sheep to the media and get your damn facts right.

end the deed not the bread.....ban BSL!!!! [/quote]
Couldn't have said it better myself... I work for a 24 hour Vet and the smaller dogs are way more dangerous. Pits get a bad rep because of their owners...

There's no reason to hate the breed.... again... its the owners that need help, not the dogs. My dog would never ever hurt anyone or anything...

Just wanted to throw this story in the mix:
I volunteer at the Maryland SPCA on weekends. This past Sunday we had a tan and white pit in one of the kennels. I decided to go in his cage and hang with him for a while, and this guy was the sweetest lapdog I've ever seen! He was a little nervous at first but warmed up to me so fast - within just a few minutes. He was totally just chillin in my lap while I was petting him and at no time did I think "hmm, I better watch myself in case he bites". I def have the standpoint of the owner being at fault for nutty dogs.

I hate all pitbulls and pitbull owners

only cuz my landlord wont let me have a dog and I am envy you all. If my lease wasn't so good and I didn't have a jacuzi hot tub in my bathroom I'd totally live in a regular cookie cutter apartment that allowed dogs. Maybe later in the year. I want a blue pit so bad

So I was just browsing around checking out pics of blue pits cuz thats what I want when we move and I came across this site the had this statement:
"Blue pit bulls are some of the most beautiful dogs in the world. Of course it does take a real appreciation for pit bulls to find them beautiful and not rugged and tough looking. But you just can't help but look at blue pit bulls and notice what a beautiful creature they are. Of course the word of caution has to go out to everyone thinking about buying blue pit bulls, all puppies are cute so unless you are familiar with these dogs you need to probably steer clear of them. Blue pit bulls take a lot of special care and handling to grow into socially adjusted and acceptable pets. If this is going to be your first dog you should probably find a different breed. Pit bulls take more attention and training than your average dog and should not be kept by someone who is unfamiliar with the time and training that would be involved. Do take a look at the pictures below and you can surly see that they are majestic beauties that would make a great addition to the proper home."
Is this truth? What makes a blue pit different from any other pit? and also, their ears in those pictures are cropped right? If you just left them alone they would be floppy yes? I'm not a fan of the cropped ears. just MHO
      site it came from

What makes a blue pit different from any other pit?

99.9% of blues are bred solely for color, and color alone.
blue is a dillute of black, and is actually aflaw
blue dogs are notorious for skin/coat problems, stomach/digestive problems and allergies gallore.
steer clear of ~breeders~ of blue dogs as they are in it for the money and NOT for the betterment of the breed
if you want a blue dog- be prepared to pay out the ass for it...and im talking about long term care, not the sticker shock prices these so called "breeders" are charging ("oh, they down from big boi's kennels- its outkast pitz yo! i will sell the pups for $3K each!!!....and then you will find the dogs tossed about and untilamtely in the shelter system)

holy! he's a great looking pit! And 12 dogs huh? You guys live together? That must be chaos! lol but good chaos. I plan on have at least 3 dogs hopefully, a pit, english bulldog and a boxer. But when I see sad faces at shelters they may change my mind.
