If anybody has battled with a rear door stuck in the closed position on a mk4 4 door please help. The door is in the closed position and the interior and exterior door handle does not open the door. I pulled the panel and window assembly and can not figure out how to get the latch to open. Any suggestions?

try lifting up on the door and pulling the handle. this happened on my driver side door and it was just the locking mechanism. good luck

I was looking originally for a two door but ended with a four door golf. Pulling on the door in any direction did not help. Worked on the latch for hrs and nothing closer to getting it open.

It not to late I can weld the rear doors shut and have myself a 2 door golf without the long doors that like to catch the wind and bang into other cars. Not from my experience but seen it happen.

IIRC there is a recall/tech bulletin for this at the dealerships...

Do you happen to have more information on the update service procedure? I have not heard anything regarding the door stuck closed. Special policy by vw they will cover and if its an update than I need to pay for it. If I have the procedures to fixing it I can do it. Thank you for the heads up.
