Since the Golf R is already K04-equipped, there's really nothing more we need to do to this. We're running APR software with a high-pressure fuel pump, intake, inter-cooler, and exhaust. Basically an APR "Stage 2+" set-up for the Golf R/S3.

While we are very brand loyal with regard to the parts we sell at Achtuning, we certainly wouldn't turn away an install of reputable-brand parts we don't offer, especially when it comes to brake and suspension upgrades as we feel we specialize specifically in those areas. While the A3 was stripped of it's engine in late 2009 for the purpose of installing APR's "Stage 4" (specific details yet to be released - but basically a port and polished head, upgraded internals, and bigger turbo) engine, the arrival of the Achtuning Golf R meant it would make more sense to put a 500hp-ish set-up into something that can put all that power to the ground using all 4 wheels. Therefore the "Stage 4" is now in our Golf R leaving us a low-mileage BPY engine to throw into the A3. There are some added benefits of running the BPY engine over the A3's CDL and they are:

- Lower compression (9.8:1) forged pistons. BPY is 10.5:1.
- strengthened connecting rods
- enlarged wrist pins
- stronger piston rings
- upgraded bearings
- reinforced engine block
- upgraded camshafts (longer duration)
- upgraded injectors (+13% flow)

We're running APR's inter-cooler, Carbonio intake, and high pressure fuel pump along with a full APR 3" turbo-back exhaust. The software on the ECU is still the "Edition30/K04" file we ran in the A3 before the engine swap. (We had already installed the APR Ed30/K04 turbo kit on the original CDL motor.) Not much else planned for this thing for now, as we're just happy to see it back on the road!

We'd like to take this opportunity to extend a big "Thanks!" to the manufacturers whose high quality performance parts and technical support have contributed to an incredible 9-month journey since we took delivery of the Achtuning VW Golf R this last January. APR, H&R, StopTech, and Falken Tire products have been pushed to the extreme and they continue to hold their own!

Wasting no time, we immediately enhanced our Golf R's potential by upgrading the suspension with H&R front and rear anti-sway bars and their Premium coil-over kit, eventually upgrading to track-spec RSS Club Sport coil-overs. Power levels were increased with an APR ECU tune, intake, high pressure fuel pump, and exhaust to keep us content through the winter months while we familiarized ourselves with the car on track. Then it was really time to get down to business. The arrival of APR's "Stage 4" turbo-charger system with the high-flow head, built engine, and inter-cooler had created an almost untamable monster had it not been for the StopTech 355mm ST40 Trophy big brake kit and Falken RT-615K tires keeping it all within controllable reason... And we're still not done! Stay tuned for continued progress on the Achtuning Golf R project!

APR's RSC™ Technology is now available for the MK5 Golf R32 in their newest 3.2L VR6 RSC™ 3" Performance Exhaust System. RSC™ or Reflective Sound Cancellation allows for maximum exhaust gas flow while eliminating unwanted in-cabin sound resonance known as "drone". RSC™ incorporates innovative technologies developed in conjunction with NASA. APR is pleased to present the Carbonio Carbon Fiber Intake System for the MK6 Jetta 2.0L 8v engine! The Carbonio Intake System is a ram air design that completely separates the intake filter from the engine bay and results in a peak gain of 7 horsepower! Building from years of experience on and off the race track, Carbonio's and APR's engineering teams have spent countless hours developing a true cold air and ram air carbon fiber design that can be recreated affordably for the street performance enthusiast.

For many years professional motorsport organizations have suffered great expense to properly tune the air intake delivery system for turbocharged engines for use in endurance and sprint races where every last horsepower and pound feet of torque can make the difference in position when crossing the finish line. Historically these designs have proven to be the most efficient and powerful although the most expensive to produce.

Aftermarket performance companies have attempted to capitalize on these designs however the cost restraints have typically resulted in compromise and deviation from the true engineering principles associated with motorsport accomplishment. Don't be fooled by catch phrases and tag lines alluding to a new intake technology or special design characteristic. You won't see any of these gimmicks installed on race cars at the Nurburgring.

Carbonio and APR have gone even further to maintain all oem specifications necessary to integrate cohesively with an otherwise stock engine to avoid raising eyebrows at the dealership. Flexibility was another characteristic of Carbonio's and APR's design whereas the new intake is also complementary to other performance modifications.
