Talked to someone at Waterwerks, can't remember who but I'm thinking about going Stage 2 with my MK6 GLI. You guys got the APR Stage 2 stuff in stock for the GLI?
We're going to have these available to fit just about any 4x100 application and will include free hub rings for each vehicle to ensure a hub-centric fit.
We've just received the Gen4 Switchable Stock/Race/Eco Haldex Controller and not wasting any time, we're throwing it in the Achtuning Golf R to try out for our next track session this weekend. Haldex based all wheel drive systems monitor ABS speed sensors, throttle input, steering angle, etc. to anticipate and distribute torque transfer from the engine to the drive-line. Haldex upgrades such as the one we are installing will allow us to select a pre-programmed setting which will alter the time in which the system reacts to these dynamic changes, creating a more aggressive handling characteristic. The included wireless remote and receiver will allow us to engage the 3 pre-programmed settings described below.
Eco: Eco mode was developed for increased fuel efficiency. Its purpose is to reduce the torque transfer from front to rear during normal highway driving (coasting), but will immediately engage the system if a wheel starts to slip to prevent decreased traction situations.
Stock: As you'd expect, a standard mode that is similar to the original setting in the vehicle.
Race: Race mode will unleash further potential as it provides faster reaction time to vehicle inputs in the AWD communication system, and allows for even greater amounts of torque transfer to the rear axle.
Install is pretty straight forward as you start by replacing the stock Haldex unit with the upgrade.
We then feed the wiring harness for the wireless receiver up through the belly pan located in the trunk, plug it into the receiver and tuck the receiver away neatly in one of the spare tire cover "compartments" before calling it a day.
A VWR short-shift kit also made its way into the Achtuning Golf R today. Here it is below sitting next to an OEM one for comparison. The VWR kit is an OEM-like upgrade in that it feels OEM smooth but offers up to a 25% reduction in throw with it's adjustable linkage.
After a quick drive around the neighborhood, this is a short-shift kit we'd recommend every VW Mk5/6 owner picks up.

Achtuning Adjustable Upper Control Arm Kits allow ±1.5° camber or caster change on a wide range of Audi and VW models. These arms directly replace the factory fixed length arms, allowing for easy adjustments after installation. Engineered for the street and track, the forged 6061-T6 aluminum ends with 18mm threaded adjuster links assure this is the stongest kit available. Maintenance free ball joints and bushings provide factory ride, handling, and NVH (noise vibration and harshness) performance.
The expectancy with the new ball joint design is to offer a longer-lasting product at a slightly lower cost than the Stern arms (which we will continue to sell once they are back in stock) as they are $30 less to purchase and far less to replace. When they do wear out, replacement of the entire kit will be necessary. If they last at least the expected 50k-75k miles, the cost of ownership will be lower than the Stern kit, two sets of the rebuild kits, and the extra labor to rebuild (which would be needed every 20-25k miles.)

Older MK5 ECU's are available through the OBD-II Port while new MK6 vehicles require removal for flashing ($95 labor).
stage 1 tdi software is soooooooo worth it. Too bad it took them so long.
Dan brought in his wife's Audi A3 S-Line to receive an APR Stage 2 ECU upgrade and APR down-pipe today. This is in preparation for what could be the path towards K04 turbo power levels should they decide to take the plunge later down the road. It was decided that the factory cat-back were to remain to keep sound levels low and stock-like.
At idle, the car sounds like stock. With low throttle input the exhaust note might sound deeper but remains very stock-like with very little change from factory. Get on it, and you'll hear a deeper and lower tone and just loud enough to get people wondering if there's an exhaust upgrade on the car at all...
We wrapped everything up by adding a set of 5mm H&R spacers out back to even things out with the front.

So far we've had several successful APR ECU upgrades on 2.0 TDI (140hp) Audis and VWs and we want to give everyone some detailed information with regard to availability of an ECU upgrade for your TDI. When you come to see us, we will plug into your OBD-II port and load APR's Direct Port Programming online flashing suite. The computer will scan your car to see if software is available. If it is, you can flash and go on your way. If it isn't, we'll do what's called a "Code Extract" to send your ECU information to APR for software creation.
Currently we are extracting and flashing ECU's with the 1796 processor. However, vehicles with the 1797 ECU found in select new vehicles are still in development. We can take a good guess which processor revision is which based on your ECU Box code, however, the only way to be sure is to open the ECU and check.
Audi/VW/Seat/Skoda have MANY ECU part numbers and revisions for each vehicle in their fleet, so typically during the launch of a new software code, there's some lag time before all of the codes are available. Codes will not become available unless APR actually sees them, which means taking a trip to come see us to do that scan/code extraction will speed up the process.
