You're welcome and thanks again for the order! As for the BBS RFs, we'll have new sets (of 4) available in a couple of weeks at $599.
New Achtuning Adjustable Control Arm Kits now in stock for B5 through B8 and C5!!!!
Achtuning Adjustable Upper Control Arm Kits allow ฑ1.5ฐ camber or caster change on a wide range of Audi and VW models. These arms directly replace the factory fixed length arms, allowing for easy adjustments after installation. Engineered for the street and track, the forged 6061-T6 aluminum ends with 18mm threaded adjuster links assure this is the stongest kit available. Maintenance free ball joints and bushings provide factory ride, handling, and NVH (noise vibration and harshness) performance.
The expectancy with the new ball joint design is to offer a longer-lasting product at a slightly lower cost than the Stern arms (which we will continue to sell once they are back in stock) as they are $30 less to purchase and far less to replace. When they do wear out, replacement of the entire kit will be necessary. If they last at least the expected 50k-75k miles, the cost of ownership will be lower than the Stern kit, two sets of the rebuild kits, and the extra labor to rebuild (which would be needed every 20-25k miles.)
The Achtuning Adjustable Upper Control Arms are in stock, ready to ship! Simply click on the links below to be directed to our website for an online purchase or give us a ring at 425-895-0000.

Older MK5 ECU's are available through the OBD-II Port while new MK6 vehicles require removal for flashing ($95 labor).
Dan brought in his wife's Audi A3 S-Line to receive an APR Stage 2 ECU upgrade and APR down-pipe today. This is in preparation for what could be the path towards K04 turbo power levels should they decide to take the plunge later down the road. It was decided that the factory cat-back were to remain to keep sound levels low and stock-like.
At idle, the car sounds like stock. With low throttle input the exhaust note might sound deeper but remains very stock-like with very little change from factory. Get on it, and you'll hear a deeper and lower tone and just loud enough to get people wondering if there's an exhaust upgrade on the car at all...
We wrapped everything up by adding a set of 5mm H&R spacers out back to even things out with the front.

We stock the OEM S4 valence, trim, and heat shield needed to make the quad-tipped exhaust conversion happen along with the APR K04 kit and RSC exhaust... Who's next?
So far we've had several successful APR ECU upgrades on 2.0 TDI (140hp) Audis and VWs and we want to give everyone some detailed information with regard to availability of an ECU upgrade for your TDI. When you come to see us, we will plug into your OBD-II port and load APR's Direct Port Programming online flashing suite. The computer will scan your car to see if software is available. If it is, you can flash and go on your way. If it isn't, we'll do what's called a "Code Extract" to send your ECU information to APR for software creation.
Currently we are extracting and flashing ECU's with the 1796 processor. However, vehicles with the 1797 ECU found in select new vehicles are still in development. We can take a good guess which processor revision is which based on your ECU Box code, however, the only way to be sure is to open the ECU and check.
Audi/VW/Seat/Skoda have MANY ECU part numbers and revisions for each vehicle in their fleet, so typically during the launch of a new software code, there's some lag time before all of the codes are available. Codes will not become available unless APR actually sees them, which means taking a trip to come see us to do that scan/code extraction will speed up the process.
If you have a Ross Tech VCDS cable, you can do some homework to find what you have. Just follow this guide: http://www.goapr.com/support/boxcode.php
At this point, the following ECU box codes & revisions are available to flash right now:
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019CL S7966
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019CM S7967
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019DA S9144
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019DA S8217
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019DB S9047
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019DB S7970
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906022PB S8216
2.0TDI CBEA 03L906022SQ S7968
If you're not on that list, you may need to be code extracted. However, we will not need to extract your ECU if you're on the lists below.
Here are the other ECU codes we currently have and are waiting for APR Engineering to release:
2.0TDI CBEA 03L906022SQ S7276
2.0TDI CBEA 03L997016N S8680
2.0TDI CBEA 03L997016P S8681
Lastly, here are other codes we are waiting for APR's Engineering team to test before they can be bumped up to the next level for a release:
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019EE S1181
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019EE S3521
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019EF S1182
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019EH S3523
2.0TDI CBEA 03L906019EJ S1466
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019HG S2261
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019HH S2260
2.0TDI CJAA 03L906019HH S3524
Hope this clears up any questions or confusion out there with regard to "select" TDI software availability from APR. If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us!
We've got a LOT of work ahead of us! We just took delivery of the APR "Stage 4" engine that was once intended for our A3 but will now end up in the ACHTUNING Golf R! Then we'll be resurrecting the ACHTUNING A3 project shortly after... STAY TUNED!!
Last edited by Dion@ACHTUN!NG; 08-10-2012 at 04:25 PM.
A couple of hours in and we've already got the stock engine out of the Achtuning Golf R this morning!
The turbo for the APR "Stage 4" build on the Achtuning Golf R has just arrived. *drool
In-house tuning for your Audi TT RS and Audi R8 V10 is COMING SOON to ACHTUNING! Starting today, APR began shipping the highly anticipated APR 2.5 TFSI & 5.2L FSI V10 ECU Flashing Interface to APR Dealers around the globe. This will allow us to flash stock or upgraded ECUs, in house, without ever sending the ECU to APR. The APR CCD makes the upgrade process as simple as plug and play. The ECU is plugged into the device, connected to the APR Direct Port Programming servers and APR software is downloaded.
Select ECUs from the following vehicles require the APR CCD for in house flashing:
- Audi TT RS 2.5 TFSI
- Audi R8 5.2L FSI V10

We're making good progress with the "Stage 4" build on the Golf R...
Definitely not a secret, it's just we haven't received the details ourselves.
We know this is a similar set-up to what was thrown into the APR/BFGoodrich MaxR project. We hear we are also working with some new and improved parts which could potentially put us slightly beyond the MaxR project's figures, a claimed 500hp. We know we have APR's "latest and greatest" 2.0T head machined straight off their Centroid 5-axis machine. (check out the vid below) And of course the bottom-end has been strengthened and balanced as well.
We know we have a Garret Honeywell GTX2867R turbo-charger. This is what APR had to say about it: "The GTX2867R is a new turbocharger unit from Garrett that offers a lightweight billet compressor wheel with next generation geometry for extremely fast turbocharger spool and high-end airflow numbers. Its able to spool very quickly while still offering the headroom necessary for top end power as we cross 7000 RPM.
Another key feature to the new turbocharger unit is the use of an anti-surge compressor housing. The anti-surge housing allows us to spool the turbocharger very quickly, running high boost levels at low airflow levels, such as in the lower RPM range, to produce tons of power off the line without worry of running into dangerous levels of compressor surge.
We are using a T25 turbine to manifold connection with a smaller AR to help aid in turbocharger spool. After testing the differences between the larger and smaller AR, we chose to go with the smaller AR as the larger AR seemingly only added turbocharger lag with no measurable top end gains.
We have also opted to use an internally gated wastegate setup. This allows us to use the factory N75 to control boost with the ECU just as if this turbo was intended to be on the engine from the factory. It adds a high level of precision and all the protection necessary to protect the engine should something go wrong."
We'll have a comprehensive spec sheet made up once we confirm all the goodies. Meanwhile, the engine is just about ready to be thrown in:
Thank you for the feedback and opportunity!
A few goodies arrived from BFI today for the Achtuning Golf R "Stage 4" project!
