      We've got a LOT of work ahead of us! We just took delivery of the APR "Stage 4" engine that was once intended for our A3 but will now end up in the ACHTUNING Golf R! Then we'll be resurrecting the ACHTUNING A3 project shortly after... STAY TUNED!!

Starting today, APR began shipping the highly anticipated APR 2.5 TFSI & 5.2L FSI V10 ECU Flashing Interface to APR Dealers around the globe. This will allow us to flash stock or upgraded ECUs, in house, without ever sending the ECU to APR. The APR CCD makes the upgrade process as simple as plug and play. The ECU is plugged into the device, connected to the APR Direct Port Programming servers and APR software is downloaded.

      Select ECUs from the following vehicles require the APR CCD for in house flashing:

      Definitely not a secret, it's just we haven't received the details ourselves.

      We know this is a similar set-up to what was thrown into the APR/BFGoodrich MaxR project. We hear we are also working with some new and improved parts which could potentially put us slightly beyond the MaxR project's figures, a claimed 500hp. We know we have APR's "latest and greatest" 2.0T head machined straight off their Centroid 5-axis machine. (check out the vid below) And of course the bottom-end has been strengthened and balanced as well.

      We know we have a Garret Honeywell GTX2867R turbo-charger. This is what APR had to say about it: "The GTX2867R is a new turbocharger unit from Garrett that offers a lightweight billet compressor wheel with next generation geometry for extremely fast turbocharger spool and high-end airflow numbers. It’s able to spool very quickly while still offering the headroom necessary for top end power as we cross 7000 RPM.

      Another key feature to the new turbocharger unit is the use of an anti-surge compressor housing. The anti-surge housing allows us to spool the turbocharger very quickly, running high boost levels at low airflow levels, such as in the lower RPM range, to produce tons of power off the line without worry of running into dangerous levels of compressor surge.

      We are using a T25 turbine to manifold connection with a smaller AR to help aid in turbocharger spool. After testing the differences between the larger and smaller AR, we chose to go with the smaller AR as the larger AR seemingly only added turbocharger lag with no measurable top end gains.

      We have also opted to use an internally gated wastegate setup. This allows us to use the factory N75 to control boost with the ECU just as if this turbo was intended to be on the engine from the factory. It adds a high level of precision and all the protection necessary to protect the engine should something go wrong."

      We'll have a comprehensive spec sheet made up once we confirm all the goodies. Meanwhile, the engine is just about ready to be thrown in:

      It's done!! The APR "Stage 4" engine is in, and Bill took the Golf R to The Ridge Motorsport Park for this last weekend's ACNW track event, "Strassenlage" to put it through its paces and get to know this new monster. There are still a few, minor "tweaks" to really complete the project but for the most part it's done and running well! We expect this APR set-up should put us just under the 500hp mark while StopTech's Trophy BBK will aid in bringing all that power to a halt. More info and details yet to come but first, I must now go out and drive it!

      I went over to The ridge motorsport park while I was in shelton visting my parents. The golf R sounded really good out on the track.

      Planning to get a MK6 Gti later down the road. Probably lower it with H&R spring but just wondering what flash/remap can i use without effecting warranty?

      You're actually voiding your ECU's warranty with any "chip" brand. That said, dealers around here are very mod-friendly and recognize the APR software we install on our customer cars do not cause the typical issues their customers bring to them to have covered under warranty. That said, you have to go into this knowing you have to "pay to play."

      Thomas knew right away after picking up his brand new Touareg that he needed a better looking wheel set-up to compliment his ride. His dealership had recommended a visit to Hartmann Wheels and after a quick visit to our Redmond showroom, Thomas immediately fell in love with the idea of running the 22" Hartmann HRS4-252-GS wheels. After recommending a set of 7mm H&R wheel spacers out back, Thomas was very pleased with the final results!

      With my exprience with dealers anything modified in the cars are cause for denying any warranty work!
