Oh, this is where it gets interesting. Cathy droping certain hints about a topless german car, D I seem to recall a topless car for sale at cincy, hints about going way south....
Ooops! Have I said too much

No no no, THAT topless German car is in Seattle. That may be next month's continuation of the mystery tour. There is no direction to this tour, that's what makes it a mystery! And car? Why stop at one?? Or even two????

If your tour comes through the Maryland/Delaware area, be sure to let us locals in on it.
Deal with it.

I think 2008 is the year of the roadtrip... I've driven the Scirocco ~8000km since Cincy.

With 3 things currently broken?

Yeah, yeah, working on it. So, ditched the Mazda, swapped chauffeurs:

And this was thw sky, problem was, we wanted to fly out of the nice blue stuff into the "other stuff", and it got WAAAY worse on the map where we were headed:

So we headed to this familiar site, notice anything missing? Like, about 53 things?:

So, of course we headed to the hangar, and there was one of the winter projects, this nice G60:

But don't get too excited, autotragic inside

Since ragtops seem to be discussed on this thread, here are a few domesticated examples, and they came with typical owners jabbing each other with Ford and Chevy jokes, about which one is better. The answer of course is NEITHER, but they were still both pretty nice.

My chauffeur had switched to the Cessna in the background by this point, and he let me try it out.
Watched them testing the retracts on this beastie. Kicking is optional.

The number 53! It's everywhere!!

And of course, no trip to WIlmington is complete without a meal at Generations!

Anyway, gotta get some sleep (if I can that is!!) The next leg of the trip should be long and cover a lot of ground, well, air. We'll see what tomorrow brings!!

Waiting for Daun to bring over the 172, we'll fly from here to Wilmington, then get into a really nice Cessna 180. Loks a bit like Daun's but dragging its tail ...I'll upload as I can for the rest of the trip...who knows when that will be. Later guys!

Glad you guys are having a nice trip. I wish you guys were coming close to Columbia SC but probably not since it is really a hole in the wall town.
From the picture of Daun kicking the nose tire of the Bonanza things are gong well with it as well.

That you were. I have proof too..
So here is my taxi to Wilmington, too bad he can't put the 172 into the living room, but this is plenty close. Note Scirocco content:

And off again in the 180 Skywagon!

Headed SOUTH!

States got added to the list Here's Knoxville TN:

My chauffeur, Van! He has a BIG prop!

Daun made friends with the airport manager at our second stop in Georgia:

I got to watch the two guys up front weave through these towers!

Made it in to Zepyrhills just in the nick of time!

My next chauffeur is familiar to you guys, but the "big bunny" isn't. Yeah, there are some strange things going on in the state of Florida...

Men may not ask for directions, but at LEAST these two will look at a map.

And here is a Florida Scirocco pic to keep you all happy

Tomorrow we're hanging out at the beach (until our pale Northern skins turn crispy anyways!)
I'll let Daun throw in his two cents:
It's late, I'm tired, and I'm going to bed.
Seriously, it's been an awesome trip so far - quite the adventure really. And we've only made it as far south as we intend to go. Now we have to go north.

I DO have a Florida title for a silver 16V in my possession, yes. The title will need some "colour correction" once I get it's citizenship papers in order
