Aristos would look sweet!

I really like the thought of them right now. I'd miss my fat fives but I can't reason with buying a full second set of wheels just to keep them. They've been on the car for four years now, need something different.

Keep the fat fives for winter wheels? Aristos on jettas look amazing. I was considering a set earlier this year before I bought mine.

I probably said that wrong. I can't reason with spending money I shouldn't spend for a different set of wheels when I could offer the fat fives up in a trade. Which I have done as of today. Don't know if I will get any bites being a driving distance only type of trade.

So.....in other news something is burning underneath my car by the downpipe flex thing..... Smoke is everywhere... Going into the shop on wed morning... Sucks...

no idea.... maybe something is dripping down on the downpipe and heating up and smoking off or its maybe the heat shield paper stuff laying down on the downpipe... its under the metal heat shield going under the car so i cant see it and im too low to stick my head under there to take a gander

so somehow my down pipe was resting on the heat shield on the rack. It wore a hole though the heat shield and somehow is now burning through a power steering line under the heat shield which is causing it to smoke.... they told me "we have no idea how to keep the down pipe from resting on the heat shield" But they have to drop the sub-frame to see what is broken on the rack itself so....... may be getting a new rack?? They are checking motor mounts hopefully today but may be tomorrow morning till they get a look at it...... FML i hate this car.

Any Suggestions as how to get the down pipe off the heat shield????? im up for suggestions/anyone else ever have this issue?????

Dang! I have never heard of that before. What size/brand Downpipe are you running? Maybe your motor mounts were worn causing it to sit lower? Even if they weren't, maybe motor mount spacers could help? Just guessing without seeing it

Does anyone know if they make a special wheel bolt cap for the stock locking wheel bolts? I need four caps and I have four locking bolts, or I can just get regular caps for the regular bolts.

Yeah they do but is something you can modify an existing, regular cap for. Turn the hex insides into more of a round shape and you should be good to go! Did that on mine for awhile till I just got black lug bolts.

The ride is not impressive, even at soft adjustments and with the bumpstops cut. They are 17" with 215/45s, already spaced 5mm in the rear. Wheels are flush if looked at down the body line, and I don't want them poking any.
