Ugh, here we go already - let's try to restart the comic book movies by actually making them GOOD (ala the new Batman films, new Hulk, etc.) but we're going to change the race of Captain American from white to black. Um yeah, OK......... Sure, it's just a rumor - but that puts this off to a bad start already.

Why is it, if a man kills another man in the heat of battle, it's called heroic? Yet if he kills a man in the heat of passion, it's called murder? Why is it, if a man commits mass murder on the battlefield, he's a hero? Yet if he does it at home, he's a mass murderer?

I get that Capt. America was a white dude, and switching it up is a bit of a switch - but American is American, is it not? They threw in Samuel L. Mother****in Jackson as Nick Fury at the end of Ironman, and that didn't bother me at all.

It made sense b/c there is an"Ultimates" version of Nick Fury who is modeled after SLJ.

EXACTLY - that's my point. If there was an alternate story line out there where they had changed up his race - I could care less. But that not being the case, it shouldn't be changed. It makes no sense and screw the whole 21st century "reimagining" of everything. They want to do that, make a movie BASED off of the Captain America character with Will Smith and call it something else besides Capt. America.

Why is it, if a man kills another man in the heat of battle, it's called heroic? Yet if he kills a man in the heat of passion, it's called murder? Why is it, if a man commits mass murder on the battlefield, he's a hero? Yet if he does it at home, he's a mass murderer?

It would not be a horrible selection - His physique is in keeping with Cap. America.

John Cena was not horrible in The Marine, it was everything else that was horrible.
My only problem with his physique is that is Cap. America has always been drawn as being significantly leaner. Cena's size is oddly proportioned - he looks short (I don't know how tall he is.).

You definitely need someone "larger than life"...

It looks like the current running rumor is that Thor will be this guy:

    Alexander Skarsgård

Camera angles and creative cinematography are better than getting a crappy actor who's buff or a pro wrestler for the role.

My friend and bible tutor for over three years is a black man (in his late fifties) and a long time comic book fan, and when I told him they were considering a black man for the role of Captain America, he nearly lost it. 'Captain America is white! And he will always be white to me, they better not change it!'

    Someone just saw The Wrestler.

I vote Sam Worthington for CA. He's getting his action hero creds lines up with the new Terminator movie and he's starring in Cameron's upcoming Avatar.

Another idea I had for Capt America is Mark Valley (Keen Eddie, Fringe). I Googled his name for a photo to help make my point and it appears that I'm not the first person to think of him.

Mark is awesome, he needs to be in more roles. Or bring back Keen Eddie, yet another awesome show Faux killed far too soon...

He's got the jaw for Cpt America heh.

I just hope Marvel doesn't go with a Liev Schriber for Thor like they did for this forthcoming Wolverine. I think they only way they could've gone worse is if they got Michael Cera. Ugh what a horrible piece of casting.

I still like the idea of Triple H as Thor, but I'm an avowed wrestling fan. Watching him on Raw last night with the sledgehammer got me to thinking
