Ang Lee's Hulk that's all im gonna say.

The reason I like the Avengers so much is because it was basically how I envisioned how a comic book should be brought to life on the silver screen. It truly is a real life comic, and as a fan and reader of the comics I can appreciate that. That being said, I can see how others might enjoy the other films because they're not as far out there content wise. I just hope they can bring Joss back for the sequel.

Back to Thanos though. I was talking about the Infinity Gauntlet with my dad the other day and we don't see them bringing that story line to film. It's way too "comic-book-esque". I don't think having heroes die and come back to life would work well on film. I just don't see the audience believing it. So I don't know really what they can do with Thanos that would be plausible in a movie. Any other ideas? I would love to see Thanos bring in Ultron in A2 to coincide with Ant Man, personally.

Oh yeah and someone mentioned Dr. Strange. YES PLEASE! More magic!!!

What armor do you think they are going to include in the next Iron Man film? They gotta pull out something cool to top the MkVII from the Avengers. I'm thinking deep space suit since he almost died when he went into outer space. I would love to see Hulk Buster armor if Hulk goes rogue again. Or maybe it's time for Extremis Armor or Bleeding Edge armor (i get them confused)?

    +1

Everyone in the theatre was laughing so loud I couldn't hear what the Hulk said as he walked away. I had to go look it up online.

The latest rumors say that Iron Man 3 will follow the Extremis storyline. I hope that's true.

I've tried watching TDK 3 or 4 times. It doesn't hold me. I always go do something else. Compared to Batman Begins which has great pace, I think the movie sucks. I think that if Heath Ledger hadn't died of an OD, the movie would have vanished into obscurity.

I can't see doing that, much as I liked it. If I wait a bit, I'll be able to buy it for the same money, and watch it as much as I want. We wound up checking out "The Cabin in the Woods", which was pretty good.

I saw it twice and I'm considering seeing it a third time too.
If you apply the logic you did then no one should see anything in theaters since you can go to red box and watch anything for a $1 a night.

I'd love to see it again, but the loud talkers in my local theater about burst a vein in my forehead so I'll wait for the Blueray and watch it on my own big screen at home.

Saw Avengers yesterday - loved it! One of the best comic book movies I've seen, definitely more enjoyable than any of the X-Men or Spiderman movies. I am not a comic book guy but I thought they did a good job of developing each character within the confines of this movie (I had no idea who Hawkeye and Black Widow were before this). Loved the comic relief. And this was the first time I've actually enjoyed Tony Stark. In Iron Man one and two, he's so smug it's annoying, but in this a bit of humility actually shines through, thanks to the dialogue between him and Captain America (when he's explaining what Loki is actually trying to achieve). I thought they did a great job with CA and turning him into the leader since his powers aren't on the same level as the rest of them. Hulk was great, ("Hulk....smash!")

Funniest part (to me) was the guy playing space invaders or whatever it was on the bridge of the carrier.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

Just got home from seeing it.

The whole thing was great, but Scarlett Johansen in the black dress occupied my mind all night after I saw that scene.

I thought I saw a Weyland/Yutani symbol on one of the crates as Cap was searching for the phase 2 weapon in the air ship. Not sure though.

Ooh... I didn't see that. Interesting -- will have to watch for it.

No, what I was talking about was Harry Dean Stanton (who played Brett in Alien) standing atop the rubble pile where Hulk/Banner lands and asking, "Are you an alien?".

question.... why do studios not release movies with deleted or added scenes? Like say after a movie has been out in the theatres for 4 weeks, release another version of it with extended scenes or something...

while I wouldn't normally condone such money-grabbing, I could see people going in droves to see Avengers again if they added like another extended scene after the credits or something. Is this something studios are not allowed to do?

I suspect that it would piss off a lot of people for just the reason you indicate. Most folks would be hella pissed if a "new and improved" version of the movie were release just weeks after they waited in line and spent good money to see v1.

Didn't they do this with Clue back in the day? I think they released it in various theaters with one of the various endings - that way not everyone saw the movie the same way. If nothing else, just included them at the end of the film in the credits for those who might want to stick around - just a thought.

Yeah, there was Clue (A) and Clue (B). Two different endings. Some theaters showed both.

It's the same reason gamers hate DLC. Sooner or later you come to the realization that they aren't actually adding things to the movie 4 weeks in, but rather, holding stuff out of the movie for 4 weeks to make you go back and see it again.
