Given your choices, I'd go for a PTR-91. Although I personally wouldn't buy one due to the cost of feeding 7.62 NATO.
agreed. the only thing i'd say against the PTR-91 is that reloading for it can be difficult as well. those delayed roller blowback guns can put a serious pounding on your brass. have you priced out .308 components lately? freaking rediculously expensive. bullets alone are 3x the price i used to pay only 4 years ago.
308 is a great caliber but if you can wait a few years until the prices come back down you'll be doing yourself a favor.

I have the same 500A minus the Knoxx stock. The local store had them on sale a few years back at $219, it has been a good gun.
It eats anything except these Nobel Sport 00-Buck shells which seem to get hung up sometimes trying to chamber one. They're not any longer than 2.75", but they don't want to slide into the chamber smooth, I'll sometimes need to try to pump it again to get it to seat one.

I have the same 500A minus the Knoxx stock. Thanks! I really like the shotgun a lot. I bought it from a family friend and it only came with a pistol grip. Pistol grips are great for when the SHTF, but after a day at the range with 00 and slugs, I needed something different. The Knoxx is a really sweet stock. I got it from Midway for about $110 or so... IIRC...
Your picture is great. That muzzle blast is sweet!

They make about 3010 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, so quite a punch and the short 500 barrel allows for quite the fireball

Here is another pic, using 2 hands while shooting this time...

Suppressors are where it's at
![]()
Unless you meant AAC, then yeah... if they'd bring out an integral that can be serviced by the end user, I'd possibly buy one. I'm less mad at them now.
I swore I'd never buy another, but they eventually paid me in the end, so maybe.

Nothing makes it silent except in the movies or on a .22.

Some folks get heated about it, like almost to the clip/magazine level... but either are OK with me, and compared to the un-moderated level,
using a moderator (the europe version of suppressor) on a firearm does make a world of difference, but none of them make anything truly silent.
Damn quiet on a .22, but not silent.![]()

I almost got a PPK, but the Bersa got better reviews at the time I was looking, and was a little cheaper. Still a nice piece though!
Quote, originally posted by 2002_Turbo » what's the diff between silencer and suppresor ladies? Technically, it IS a suppressor.
But the government refers to them as silencers, as well as the general population, so I do also.

cool. let me put it this way: you might as well install anti-aircraft sights when you take the suppressor off because the muzzle will be aiming in that direction most of the time.
![]()
![]()
fwiw did you get that suppressor transferred locally? i'm thinking of getting one once i get back from deployment in a year.
