I am finally getting around to building one of my Aero Precision Lower and Uppers, this one is going to be a SBR for one of my suppressors. So far I have installed a Vltor Emod, BCM Charging handle, KNS anti rotation pins, Battle Arms Ambi selector, Magpul B.A.D. I have not decided on a forearm/handguard setup yet.

I finally got a new trigger for my .308 AR. its Geissele trigger SSA-E. There's a company in Southern CA that claims "We have been using .308 barrels made for us to our spec's by BHW, and the best we have shot (3 shot group, cold barrel) is .29" at 100 yards with Federal Match .308, and .36" with Remington 150 grain commercial grade ammo.

The rifle is equipped with a Zeiss Conquest scope, and Geissele SSA-E trigger."

in other words.... it will TOTALLY out shoot me!!!!

Same thing Mega told me when I was building my .308. Very good things to say about BHW. At the time I didn't want to wait, so I went with a Noveske 7.62 18".

I got in on the Group buy over at AR15 armory, and I've been really happy with the barrel even with my slightly warmed over stock trigger! I really want to take this thing to a Magpul Precision rifle class.

What length did you go with? The only thing I am second guessing is the 18". Noveske uses a heavy barrel on the 18" and above. Makes it a challenge to find a brake I like that fits the barrel. May just go custom at this point.

Its an 18'' I ended up going with a PWS brake. Its really nice, it doesn't cut recoil a ton, but it isn't SUPER loud ether. This and my 10/22 have become my favorite guns.

I'm curious why you cant find a break that fits? I thought the Noveske barrels had a .750 gasblock? Seems like any .308 Break would work.

EDIT never mind they're .875" Are you running an Armalite bolt carrier group?

I believe the 16" is a .750. At least from what I've seen. Yeah, I'm running the Armalite BCG.

Anyone in here have any experience with any of the DPMS Panther rifles? I've always had a thing for them... and I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'm considering one from their Bull line-up... probably the Bull 24 (24" Barrel). But I also like the LR-243.

sort of, My first AR had a DMPS 24'' bull upper it was HEAVY as hell and I ended up having it cut down to 20 inchs and flutes with zero loss in accuracy. Here in CA we couldn't have DPMS lowers up till about a week ago when they finally started making some with out the stupid panther in the name. It was pretty nice, jsut hard as hell to shoot unless you were at a bench, it was also chambered in .223 (hell may have been 5.56 I cant remember but whatever)

I've shot them in the Navy Marksmanship matches. No problems at all.

Alright. I'm not too concerned with weight - but it does appear to be about the same weight as an M1A. Does make shooting from the standing a bit tougher, but still manageable. However, most of the shooting that'll be done with it, will be long range target shooting.

    Thanks for the input!

Excellent. The reviews that I've been reading online look pretty good for both models that I'm looking at.

Just picked up a Larue 20" Stealth upper to go with my AR15.com billet (Magpul lower). Ordered a Harris Bi-pod, Nikon M-223 scope, and Larue QD SPR mount.

I will get some pics once I have it all together.

Larue makes awesome stuff. The quality of the upper is amazing.

Also got the rest of the parts I needed to finish AR15 #6.

    It been a good day.

This - The one on the far right.

.38 special copy of the original 1851 Richards-Mason conversions. Basically the old Colt Army/Navy black powder pistols were modified to accept cartridges - had a feed gate cut into the frame, cylinder changed, and breakdown levers removed. This is a Navy model so it has a Navy print along the cylinder, and an old hexagonal barrel.

It's an Uberti copy sold by Cimarron Firearms. .38 special, six shot --- this one is a 5.5" barrel.

Below is the 4.75" barreled Uberti Cattleman (Colt Peacemaker copy) which I bought for my best friend as a late wedding gift. It's a .357 mag so it shoots .38 special also. We had an awesome time shooting at the range.

I *thought* it looked like a conversion, but wasn't sure.

Having it in .38spl is pretty cool too. I am going to have to look in to these, as I've always loved the Navy.

Yeah I went .38 special, because I want to shoot the thing, and not ice my wrists after a day at the range. Also because my buddies have .357 guns now, we can all share ammo - no worries.

It's the price of a normal new plastic handgun - but this is my only "fun gun" so it was well worth it. My LWRC upper sold, and funded both of these. A blast so far (now to find a holster...)

Since you'll be paying for in house ammo (if I remember correctly, haven't been to SGC for a while) I'd suggest something simple like an MP5 - or I believe they also have some select fire AKs there, and ammo should be reasonable. Unfortunately it becomes stupid expensive since you buy ammo there I think.

Have fun with it! Just remember, at full tilt, an AR magazine is around $10-12 and disappears in about 2.5 seconds.

Picked up a Yugo M48 for me and an old Glenfield 80G .22 S/L/LR for the wife today. The mauser was still coated in cosmoline and has a bore and rifling that looks brand new. Still waiting on my Argentine 1891 Engineers Carbine to show up, supposed to get here today. If it does I'll update with pictures of it as well.

Full auto AK. That's something every video game player, movie buff, history student, gun nut, or engineering student should fire at least once in a lifetime.

I love mauser rifles, looks like you got a nice one. That turkish ammo is really hot, it will kick pretty good and shot about six inchs high at 100 yards so aim 6inch POA.

Removed the Magazine Safety Switch from my wife's LC9 a couple nights ago... so now it'll fire with the magazine removed. Trigger has a better feel to it, as well. Have yet to test it at the range though.

I've been trying to adjust my front sight post on my AK-47, but the damn thing won't budge. Soaked it in CLP overnight... same results. I'm using the Tapco tool. I think I'm gonna soak it with PB Blaster overnight, and then fire off a mag to get the barrel warmed up... and then try it. Take some Vice Grips with me for extra leverage. Anyone have any other recommendations?

I messed with the AK at the range today, trying to sight it in good. Forgot my Vice grips... so I still couldn't get the damn front sight to move. Need a breaker bar for that damn little tool. Its shooting about a foot to the left at 100m, from the looks of things. NBD.

Got the Argie in this afternoon finally. It was made by Ludwig Loewe in 1895 and for being 116 years old it is in remarkable shape and functions as if new.
