Just picked up my first gun. It's a Mossberg 500 field/security combo 12-gauge. It comes with two barrels (18.5" and 28" ported), three chokes, and a pistol grip. Here are the three configurations:

^^^ What's that second one, an 870 with a cut-down barrel?
#4172
1971 Full metal, including trigger guard Rem 870 cut back to 12". Has the Hogue 12 LOP stock and fore grip, and I added a little neon green sight. I can hold my own skeet shooting against standard length shotguns, I would say out to 50 yards.
Thanks![]()

SBR 9mm AR
like the SBS too.
I've been busy as hell moving my business. will be working on my NFA trust soon to start shortening some barrels and acquiring some suppressors.
(unless some one more well versed in the NFA processes can tell me that putting the items on my S-corp is better then doing a trust, because I'm kinda torn between the two)
#4174
I went with a trust in my family name. I know there are tons of threads online that say there could be problems or you need a lawyer to write it up, but its really easy. I had my local Class III dealer actually set me up. Cost $0. Every item ive purchased has been smooth with zero issues. I even forgot a form once and had to re-submit all my paper work and it still only took a total of 2 1/2 months to get approved for that "toy" from the initial mail out date of mistake paper work to approval.
#4175
Well I added a new weapon to the family over the weekend. Say hello to a FEG SA-2000m AK variant, more commonly known as the AMD-65! The finish leaves a bit to be desired but I wasn't expecting a whole lot. Maybe one day I'll send it in for KG Gun Kote or something similar. I apologize up front for the mediocre cell phone pics and I hope to add some action shots tomorrow.
To sum it up... small, medium and large!![]()

traded my 12 year old glock 34 straight up for a unfired mossberg 930 spx that was just sitting in the former owners safe...

Speaking of Glocks, I saw a hunting show two days ago where they were North American big game hunting with a 20 or 21 model. 10mm and the .45acp. Neat approach to the sport. Ground blinds and crawling up on whatever was being hunted. Some shots were instant fold ups and others had to be tracked about like a bow/arrow kill.
Sorry, but I found it interesting.
#4180
10mm is pretty common pistol cartridge for hunting, more effective than .45acp
#4181
And why not? It should work well enough at moderate ranges because, IMO, the 10mm ballistically like a 41 Magnum in a rimless case. Sounds like a damn reasonable idea at responsible distances.![]()

Very cool, both guys are good to go. Sadly someone had a PPQ with an RMR installed, but it's been malfunctioning.
Dale Fricke makes nice Kydex, but his prices are a bit high - how's the thickness on that? I had a Fricke once, and it was like damn near 1/4" thick kydex!I sold it off, and didn't look back. He does a lot of kydex for the OST guys, so he handles a lot of RMR-ready kydex. Very cool.

new Benelli supernova tactical with my Remington 700 SPS tactical. Up at the range this afternoon

Just watched a pretty disturbing documentary on the 700 - have you ever had a malfunction with it?

no and aren't there like 800 million in use or something crazy.
I will say that it never feeds that smoothly, but I figured it was the ammo I was using. What documentary?
#4191
Was it the CNBC documentary? Because that documentary was garbage. When I saw the CNBC one I grabbed a bunch of snap caps and went to town with my 700, nothing bad happened. I bet a lot of those were "I have a Dremel, I am a gunsmith!!!" and went nuts with the trigger mechanisms. If that was the documentary you are talking about, check out the rebuttal. http://www.remington700.tv/

Just put a deposit on a DPMS Oracle, I know they're not the best but for the price I'll have fun with it.
Will post pics when I pick it up...

The only clip that was scary was the officer prone with the rifle firing just by touching the bolt. But as they mentioned, there was no examination done on that particular weapon to see what had been modified on it. I am fairly confident that no stock weapon would behave as people claimed they have. Mod one to within an inch of its tolerances and you will start seeing problems. I guess its not an inch in this instance more like mm.

Just bought a bunch of stuff for my Benelli M4 to make it 922r compliant with a collapsible stock.
I also got a titanium 7rd mag tube from carriercomp.com. They said it will take about 3weeks for it to arrive.
Ill post some pics when I get everything in.

That, and the USMC report about rifles having similar issues. All in all, the sketches they showed of the trigger system does make it look pretty suspect. That and the request by the designer to change it back in the 70's etc. Pretty damning. The PD SWAT guy who fired his off while over-watching and entry team was sketchy too.
Either way, I definitely would be weary of the rifle. Then again the guy who had his foot blown off got 18 million...so maybe it's worth it.![]()

Finally swapped out my ruger for this guy! Had my eye on an XD9 for about a year.

First gun, below. Remington 11-87 Riot 12g. My dad, a longtime enthusiast/collector of military stuff, and former gun shop owner, is stoked that I'm finally showing some interest. I'm looking to get a compact nine, most likely an M&P, to round out my meager stable. I really like the P238 but, correct me if I'm wrong, it's not very left-hand friendly.

My wife really likes the P238 and will be getting it for concealed carry once we have spare cash. The safety is only on the left side but there might be ambi or right sided versions or parts available. As far as I know t is exactly the same as the old Colt Mustang so after market parts might be around for that also fit. It's a sweet little shooter, feels and functions just like a tiny 1911 (imagine that) but if you're not a tiny person or concealing it in a purse I'd recommend something bigger in at least 9mm

I'm a lil' guy, at 5'5", and not interested in carrying anything, anytime soon.
