My only two rifles, and I'm in the middle of cleaning up both. They were brought back by my Grandfather after his time in the Marines in the Pacific after World War II. Since enlisted folks couldn't ship things back, his brother (who was a Navy officer) had to creatively get them home. He gave them to me before he passed.

for those who care...
Magpul has been working on Back-Up Iron Sights made out of the same material as those God-given PMAGs (I'm drinkin' the Magpul kool-aid, bishes )
anyway, here's a couple pics:

Pricing is hovering around $100 for BOTH!!! Those of use with Troy BUIS know how much just ONE fuggin' sight cost us, lol.

They will make a gajillion dollars if they end up selling the front and rear for $100.

Any idea when these will be available? They've been in their pdf catalog for a while but not available on their website or through vendors...
I'm in for several. I loves me some MagPul.

you can get the latest straight from the horses mouth at the link I posted above. A guy from Magpul posts all the time and answers questions. Great people that just happen to sell great products, imo.
I'm wanting to hold out for the Masada (aka Bushmaster ACR) but I'll probably get a Robinson Arms XCR before that. I want a gun from the ground up to be a piston gun instead of buying those carrier tilt-causing retrofits.

and here's a visual reason why you use the pistol to fight to the rifle:

I'm absolutely a Magpul whore...and I'd love to pick up their BUIS when they come out. They seem to make great products, for very reasonable prices, and they work.
Heck I paid $140 for my Yankee Hill Machinery BUIS, and I'm not 100% stoked with them. They lock into place, but then have a little bit of play etc. If I can get Magpul ones (those look beefy!) I'll be very interested. In my mind you can find very few magazines better than a $12 PMAG, very few pistol grips better (or more versatile) than the MIAD, they make cheap and effective rail covers....I will say I might go VLTOR for my stock though. The CTR is nice, but I like the Emod style cheek weld.
I'll post pictures of my "final" LWRC when my mount comes in later this week...

What's the big deal about Magpul mags? I'm new to the AR thing and have messed with these at gun shops but don't know why all the fuss....

They function very well and are just about indestructible. I retro-fitted all my USGI mags with Magpul's enhanced followers and the difference is really noticeable. Those followers don't tilt at all.

you can beat the hell outta these mags and they keep on working. Granted, I doubt anyone will purposely run their mags over in any environment, it's nice to know it can handle that kind of weight on it.

talk about it....I was on BravoCompanyUSA's email notification for when the Pmags came back in stock and was lucky enough to be up early enough when it dropped so I snagged a mag that instant (was like, a month ago). For cereal, 1 hour later they were back to "backorder" status. The demand is insane.
more gun pron (not mine but the newest magpul covers are starting to grow on me):

borrowed from USMC03 in the M4carbine.net picture thread, he's even got pics used on BravoCompany's page!

I think Brownells police discount is up to $13...but yes the local shop here charges...$19 for a non-window model?
I have a couple on backorder from Brownells, so we'll see when they show up.

So at 16 years older then most people in America got theirs, I bought myself a Ruger 10/22.
I'm waiting for my first gun - a Glock 19 - to come in from backorder and something my father always says keeps popping into my head:
"Anything worth doing is worth doing well."
So I stopped into Bass Pro Shops and asked the salesman what he thought would be a great first rifle to start off with. He sold me this Ruger 10/22 Carbine. The only other option was a composite stock version, and I thought it looked a little to...tactical for a dood trying to learn what he's doing.

I hope to have tons of fun with it, and get comfortable enough that I can buy the Springfield M1A Scout I want without being nervous.
