those are ranger plates. completely useless except for the tacti-cool. para-cord and duct tape works exactly the same and better.

I'd have to disagree. I run ranger plates on my AR mags for quals, and they work quite well. They're cheap and effective. Besides, the range plates are stiffer than duct tape/paracord (which I've also used).

Paracord is better if you have smaller mag pouches though. The ranger plate is nicer/more compact than the actual Magpuls also.

Wow, how do you really feel?

For the grand total of $20 for a kit of three Magpul no-tilt followers and the ranger plates, I'm happy.

So they're handles for faster mag changes or for something else?

You've got it - easier to extract from a mag pouch.

eh, for 6 bucks i can go get 5ft of para-cord and a roll of duct tape and i can use it on 15+ magazines and IMO it works better than the little plastic things. easier to grab from the pouch through the loop than the little hoop thing. used both prefer the para-cord.

Those ranger plates come in handy when pulling from a vest. From left hand pull using index finger pull up and out right into the magwell.

      Fantastic.

I prefer the ranger plates, which is why I bought them and that is why they're on my magazines.

It's a 9mm - we're still restricted to ten round magazines on anything post '94 ban here in NYS.

I really like it though. Very comfortable to shoot (the interchangeable backstraps are great) and it's been very reliable.

excellent...I was going to pick up a .45 for myself and a 9mm here soon. I've seen nothing but good reviews but those have all been mag reviews and you know there's just about nothing those guys don't like.

was it a failure to extract after the cartridge had already fired? Did it lock the slide closed or double feed on the stuck shell? Usually you can take a wooden dowel just a tad smaller than bore size and ram the stuck case out.

Your problem commonly happens with wolf in the M4/5.56 world where guys will shoot wolf steel case (which doesn't expand as much as brass during firing allowing hot, dirty gas around and into the chamber) and then firing brass shortly afterward which expands and sticks to the carbon that built up in the chamber.

Ya thats what the gunsmith ended up doing so if it happens again i was going to try that. We did try the same thing at the range and it wouldn't budge but he got it out some how.

I asked him why he thinks it happened and he was explaining that the brass will expand and contract quickly allowing it to come out so when you use wolf its steel and sometimes changes size. (like you said)

he also said S&W loves good ammo and if you run crap through it then ill keep having more and more problems. It was jamming alot with the wolf and it was a clean gun. (said it had to do with S&W having a weak mag spring idk its my frist S&W)

I haven't shot it since so idk if the problem is still there or not. sux because I got alot of wolf ammo real cheap and now its just sitting here

On the contrary, most people observe that the M&P will eat just about anything you throw at it. I've fed mine everything from +P+ Federal to UMC and Blazer to some reman'd stuff my buddy had laying around. Not a single failure in a couple thousand rounds.

Ran 100% today at the range with .223 45gr Fiocchi Frangible ammo. Best thing is its actually cheaper then Remington 55gr Walmart ammo, and Black hills 75gr.

All ammo has been .223 I guess ill try and stick to that, even though the barrel is rated for both being a "Wyild" chamber.

Just waiting on the MBUS now.

7.5 lots of people say that length is very picky when it comes to ammo, but so far ive been lucky.

It might have to do with having the correct size gas tube vs. one that is cut down from a carbine tube.

It looks nice. I cant wait for spring to roll around and we can all get together for a VW Vortex Shoot.

My LWRC 10.5" upper has arrived at my dealer. Now I just need to wait about 8-10 more weeks for my SBR paperwork to go thru and about 6-8 weeks for my AAC M4/2000 mod 08 suppressor paperwork.

You can have one. It's just that in CA, the laws are incredibly retarded. IL is trying hard to catch up, though.

Tell me about it. In the last 2-3 years, there has been a resurgence in Black Rifles because research in to our AW laws and challenges in the legal system have allowed our shops to look like those in a free state again!

Anyway, thanks for the complements. I finally got my AR to where I wanted it. Kinda like a mid range rifle with versatility for close in. Although I wish I could have a 10"gas piston. I originally was using a Stag 16" carbine with my Eotech 512. Great gun and ate Wolf ammo like no tomorrow were others jammed. I am hopping this BCM upper will preform just as reliably as my Stag upper has.

As bad as CA is, IL is getting worse. One of my friends in IL wanted to buy my Sig, but had to pass because he wasn't sure if it'd be legal to own in six months.

if you've got one before they're "illegal" and and all out ban passes I'm certain many "tragic boating accidents" will become commonplace.
