SD series.
Right. Trickle-down from the M&P series and supposedly the Sigma series will be phased out completely and it will be SD/M&P; looking at the website, S&W no longer shows the Sigma at all. Any new ones must be NOS at this point I suppose.
For the most part, the SD is a Sigma frame with slight alterations it seems, with new slide and internals and design carried over from the M&P series as well. I think it is cool if S&W planned for users of the Sigma to upgrade to an improved platform and have backward compatibility with mags; if not, that's cool it works. Looking at Apex Tactical's site, their SD kit is only springs, no mention of sear or sear block like in the DCAEK and Competition kits.I'm thinking of picking one up in 9mm to have as a low-cost alternative to my M&P45.
Also: The current SDs are 2nd-gen so to speak, as the first ones that came out had Melonite finish available as well and came standard with night sights but sold at a slightly higher price. The current offerings are only in black frame/stainless slide and stardard 3-dot sights, but I believe any sights for the M&P work on these.

AEM intake, APR R1, APR TIP, ST Coilovers, Eurosport Lower Front Stress Bar, BFI Stg. 1 Motor Mount Kit, .:R32/BFI LCA Bushings, Neuspeed 28mm RSB, Forge SS w/ S2S, 42DD shift linkage bushings, Verdict Motorsports shift bracket bushings.
). If worst comes to worst, I'd rather lose the beater though. My M&P was my first handgun/firearm I ever purchased, there's a sentimental value attached to it. Plus I have some plans for it still (That ATE pic in the Dope Shizz thread got my mind going; too bad their new Costa M&P just blew them up and wait times skyrocketed
). Honestly, the grip angle and flatter grip shape seem to be more of what I like anyways; only bad part is, I can't find any at local dealers and Gun Genie shows "allocated" on all of the SDs I see.

Also, have a chance at a decent deal on a Yugo M48- roughly $250 OTD after tax and DROS, looks to be unfired and still bathed in cosmoline. So... .40S&W or 8mm Mauser?
Its too bad the SR40/c didn't exist when I got my SR9c, it would have been a strong contender, they are really good shooters and a good value.

I'll give you 50 bucks for it.
