It is a cheap German made .38, a Hermann Weihrauch mfg. 'Arminius' model HW38 built in 1968 or so... it has no import marks.

Still waiting (anxiously of course...) for my newest arrival, but here are some somewhat better shots of my measly three guns.
The "boring" XD 9mm, with FDE frame.
The duty workhorse...HK P2000 .40 (over 3500 rounds through it) Beat and dirty.
And my personal darling. Steyr M9-A1 w/ 9mm HD rounds, and hogue grip-all. Love this gun, but need to shoot it a lot more and see if the sights or off - or if I haven't figured it out.

I sold it back to the Mfg. of the suppressor, because it got loud and they couldn't sort it out, so they bought it back.Ruger MKII Target 'Phoenix' suppressed by AAC, I shot this gun more than any other

I picked it up June 5th, and by July 6th, I had shot 4K+ rounds through it

Can the factory (Ruger) replace the guts? Or do you have to get a whole new barrel? I was told that my m41k AAC will never wear out... but I have seen full auto videos that proves it can crap out- I dont think ill ever even come close to putting 4K rounds through it let alone enough to really damage it.
I just realized I dont shoot enough.

Quote, originally posted by Wilbur the pig » Whats the amount of use you can get before a .22 suppressor begins to wear out? I don't know you can. You'll wear out a few barrels first, and .22LR doesn't wear out barrels like other calibers, so technically, forever.
No moving parts, no contact, the only material loss would be via media blasting to clean the baffles, but that could be avoided with care of media selection.
Quote, originally posted by Wilbur the pig » Can the factory (Ruger) replace the guts? No. They only work on factory built guns. You could at one time send your AC556 back to them for work, and they'd repair it with factory original full auto parts, but they've ran out of parts since then. This included a new registered receiver if you wore yours out

That hasn't been the case for a decade though.
For suppressor work, I could send it to any C2 SOT mfg., which there are quite a few. It could also go back to the original suppressor builder who built the suppressor on the stock Ruger pistol.
Quote, originally posted by Wilbur the pig » Or do you have to get a whole new barrel? With the AAC, since it is sealed, it would need rebuilt, new barrel, new suppressor. With the John's Guns version, it comes apart, so I could have a new Ruger barrel turned down and threaded and ported to match the old barrel, then put the suppressor parts back onto the new barrel.... but .22 won't wear out for 100's of thousands of rounds, or more.
Quote, originally posted by Wilbur the pig » I was told that my m41k AAC will never wear out... but I have seen full auto videos that proves it can crap out- I dont think ill ever even come close to putting 4K rounds through it let alone enough to really damage it. Full auti will wear it out. With centerfire, there is enough velocity of abrasive particles to wear the metal of the baffles. Not so much with rimfire. The first baffle is the one to take the hit, and they call that one the blast baffle. Sometimes they are SS, and the rest of the baffles are aluminum, because that first one gets beat up, and in full auto, it is real bad on it.
Full auto is an entirely different story, and accelerates wear a ton. The suppressor will still last a looong time, but not as long as it would with a semi I wouldn't think.
4K rounds isn't much... it is pretty insane in 30 days, but I REALLY liked that gun. First .22, first NFA, first suppressor. I called AAC after I put about 400 rounds through it that first day, and they told me specifically I couldn't clog it or shoot too much (BS). It clogged in 5K rounds and got loud. Being sealed, it was done for.
![]()
With this new intergal that comes apart, even though I'm less than happy with it for some reasons, it will come apart and I can clean it fully, restoring it to new.
![]()
A must for any rimfire suppressor, in my opinion. You only have to check some pics out to see how dirty they get and in short order. Only mechanical cleaning will get it all out, for the most part, and that means it has to come apart.
Quote, originally posted by Wilbur the pig » I just realized I dont shoot enough. ![]()
.22 is a LOT cheaper than center fire
![]()
Even buying the 'expensive' CCI Standard Velocity these guns prefer, they are still cheap to shoot compared to that MAC or the Sigs.![]()
