Took the little fella to get some photos taken of him on his new 650c road bike... (He finally outgrew his 24" roadie)

The bike matches the color scheme of my "daily" Trek almost perfectly!

Well... there's clipless in the second photo!

I've asked him when he wants to go clipless but he and I are both nervous about the inevitable "forget-falls".

New team bike. Same as last years, just different paint. They are wrapping them in vinyl next week, though.

Nice bike, but looking at your saddle angle makes my taint hurt.

Haha! No adjustments had yet been made. I wasn't 100 yards down the road when I stopped to adjust it.

This one is from 1998 judging from the serial number, so more than likely a US National team frame.
It is one sweet riding bike for sure though..

Thanks. It's a bizarre ride, very comfortable, but not nearly as light as one of my aluminum bikes.

I picked up just last week on craigslist. It took a little to get it up to speed- new freewheel, sercuring a moving shifter boss, and new tires, but it's a pretty solid right right now.

Album (Pics from the day I got it are the ones I took in my kitchen, and the other frames I saved while trying to identify the bike)- http://imgur.com/a/1JSTI#0

I like it so far. Changed some things up recently. After a couple flats I wanted to go tubeless with some larger volume tires. Mounted some new tires on a spare set of mtn wheels I had laying around. Also has a new saddle, bars, stem, wrap, and hoods.

Funny story about Rob Stowe. I actually ran into him by happenstance via the Rochester NY craigslist. I was headed up there anyway to pick up a frame for a member of another bike forum and saw an ad for an old raleigh three speed. When I got the email back, I recognized the reply address and name. Needless to say, I bought the bike. I had a nice chat with Mr. Stowe. I asked him to sign my bike, but he wasn't exactly pumped about the tigged frames and I forgot the paint pen. I did show it to him though, and he did take it for a ride, along with my Electric assist MTB.

He's still in the Rochester area, he owns a moving company now. I didn't get the sense he was still building frames, but he did mention that despite selling off most of his tooling when his experiments with aluminum/scandium went south in like 2003 and took his company with them, he still has a full complement of tools to make frames. He's getting back into cycling, but according to him, he "hasn't caught the bug to build again... just yet."

Cool guy. I was in his ear for a little trying to get him back in the swing of things conjuring up images of an afterschool special with the fresh faced upstart reinvigorating the passion of a jaded master, but it wasn't to be.
