frog was pretty all time. Pinion (sp?) gears lasted about 2 goes though. there was a usa mob making them from alloy I think.

My favorite was the sand scorcher. Hard to drive on the dirt, but it looked so cool. My mate had the Holiday Buggy with the small 380 motor when I got the sand scorcher, then as I outpowered him he got the super champ. now that was a good one. Still I think it had a live axle too, so crap to drive.

After the frog I got the road wizard and had that for a while, got a fox that we never made work. A mate gave me the lambo countach and it lived under my bed for about 10 years, never did anything with it other than toss it out.

I never got the hotshot, wished I did. But i was well into bmx more by then.

Actaully, I had an airboat from an Aussie company, built it up, had the glow engine running and never got to use it. Was riding with it all in my "Tiger" school bag and got hit by a car on the way to the lagoon while on my bmx and it got crushed.

as I said, I had a hankering for the Pajero. Also the opel ascona and I think fiat 131? or was it a lancia stratos or 037? can't remember now.

B&W. A ****ty model I bought from ebay uk.
I sourced a lot of new bits for it, now I'm trying to decide on a new colour scheme.

I dont think i could b arsed spending squillions on a brushless motor and ESC etc the "sports tuned" tamiya motor mite do me for the moment with the alloy dampers and a few pink anodized bits for the ladies.

yeah i kinda realised that after ordering (and i think the $200 price at hobbyco included it from its description) but i had already searched about for better batteries etc already so i'm not that upset haha

The $200 one would have - the SGD$250 example did... though I'm not so sure about the batt I was supplied with actually, it may need an upgrade too?

Wayne, Tamiya stuff is pretty cheap anyway! Does the 3 racing stuff plug and play? I don't have the tools to be a handyman.

i just looked at the 3racing stuff, apart from the titanium screw set (lol) i think i'll stick with tamiya parts, the price difference isnt that great, and i can buy the tamiya parts from the hobby store down the road

Nope, missed that entirely.

Have been in contact with Dinosaur Deals and will see if I can change it for a Fox Mini, or is it worth waiting for the Frog?

It's also 1/10, not 1/16, so a bit bigger than TamTech

edit: find out if they will get hotshots - mine 4 wheel drifts/power slides on tiles, it's hektik bro

What's the difference between the Fox Mini and the Frog?

Comparing the specs, the only difference appears to be this: "All 3 radio components are separate units for easy upgradeability."

And are they standard rechargeable batteries with a standard recharger?

Dinosaur deals are happy to swap the cars over, but I'm not sure whether to get a refund for the price difference or to ask them to supply me with a battery set up.

Thats like idiots collecting new starwars toys, basketball cars etc etc like they're gonna be worth anything more than the plastic and carboard they're made from.

The old stuff is only collectible and rare because nobody thought they should keep them at the time, 2nd time around its too late.

Also they're based on repro designs without all the olde chool charm of propper sponsers etc so they wont be worth anything imho, but you're welcome to waste your cupboard space if you wish haha

the batteries and chargers are pretty "standard" hobby wise 7.2v 6 cell thingies u can buy at alotta hobby places/the internets but not your regular AA batteries no. (the controller takes like AA's or AAA's i dont remeber)

Thanks Wes, all sorted. The Mini Fox is on the way. Batteries for the car come with it and you just have buy some AAs for the controller. At least that what I was told. But I'll believe it when I have it running around my office terrorising people.

thats what Luka's hornet had, everything in the box, battery & charger whatever brand they were. Had to buy some AA's.

Pretty fun up and down the hall way at home on the timber floors.

The box does say batteries and charge needed, not included etc but it's opened up here I guess (at toy traders?) and they re-seal the box.

yeah it's odd - the store I bought mine at supplied the charger and battery... the box was still sealed and there was no batt or charger in there, so if it's in the box it must be done by the importer

I had to raid every remote control I had, and my gameboy, to scrape together 8 AA batteries though

ahh. now I'm racking my brain. maybe it was seperate? not that it really matters as long as you get them.

I bought the dark impact and the mini hornet the same time and had my kids with me so they more than likely were grabbing everything in the shop and I was chasing them around. Might have been a bit distracted

within the first minute my son floored it out the back sliding doorsonto the decking and it got wedged under the bbq, it lost a headlight and got really scratched up.
