I would even buy the stuff for you to make it easy and you just pay me with the kit.

And as a sweetener, I will order the Traxxas part for you and fix it for you too. The part is $24.99 plus shipping from US.
      In the spirit of peer pressure, this is what I've decided. Matty, you should get it too. As the HK cheapskate here it is;

3ch 2.4Ghz with ability to set EPA, expo, D/R etc for $31

      http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...und_Radio.html

      150A ESC that's got great reviews $64

      http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Car_ESC_.html

2100kV motor that's well document to be kick ass with the RC8be

      http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_2100KV.html

There's another ESC option for $45 that's not too bad either

Thoughts WAY? Where's the skyfun Tx for $50?

Here is a review of the FlySky. I found one for $55.99 shipped. Considering it does everything my Spektrum does at 1/4 of the price, plus when I buy the additional receivers when I want to use it with other cars (can use for up to 10 models), it only cost $10, again 1/4 of my Spektrum and 1/5th of my Futaba...you get the picture. Anyway I bought one after I found it for Matty lol.

As for the motor, that looks good Ryan. And I can't believe how cheap that 150a ESC is! One day I will go cheap lol.

      What about servo?

WAY, doing a HK run. Did you still want those gyros? Also what sized batteries fit in the 8be? 4S I'm presuming.

edit: just saw they've got a version of that GT3B controller for $27 but no stock.

Sweaty, you can buy them online from Australia or any hobby shop really. I don't have any spare otherwise I would just give you some. Will need to buy some myself actually.

You will regret it big time when Ryan and I do perfect jumps with ours at Windsor siding!

This is why I have two RC8Be. I'm turning one of them into this sort of stuff. Monster buggy as they have been coined.

Sorry just saw this! I use this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14693. Yes 4S. This is the same battey I used for the Baja as well, albeit x2. It depends on your ESC. If your ESC comes pre-wired with 2 battery plugs, such as the Xerun 150a, then it's easier to just buy 2 x 2S. You have to cut the battery tray slightly to make it fit easier.

When do you want the kit? Happy to bring it over.

I turned my original RC8Be into the monster buggy I've wanted last night. Looks awesome. I'll take a pic when I'm home tonight. Was going to run it today but it was too fricking cold. I also modified our Thunder Tiger MT4-G3 into a yellow monster Beetle. OllieWAY can't wait to run it.

Very nice WAY. Reminds me I need to order some paint (HK don't stock haha)

Did a massive order for the buggy and a few other projects. Ordered one of these:

Just buy the paint from local shop. $11-12 per can. For a buggy shell one can is enough unless you want multiple colours.

Btw, putting massive wheels on makes it handle jumps like a rear heavy car. Gone is the lovely buggy handling. BUT, compared to a monster truck, it's still excellent so no regrets. Besides, that's why I bought a second one so I can have both.

So after a bit of a tinker it's apparent I'm missing the carbon brushes that sit either side of the Commutator, red arrows in the photo. One had been replaced by a piece of wire in a bodge at some point in time... They sit in the brass tubes you can see. The vertical motor is removed in the photo

Also I have read that once you remove the magnet (circled) from the chassis it loses 70% of it's power and I'm pretty sure it has been moved before. So I'm ordering some new brushes and a Neo Magnet off the net. No Hobby King for vintage trains though

Sweaty, time to hit the vintage train forums I think. I for one would love to see that thing running again!

I suspect Sweaty's well known in vintage train forums already.

Hobby King order is turning into an ordeal. Paid by CC and because I send my mail to a PO Box and wanted the stuff sent to my house they suspended my order. Sent the info they require but a week later everything is still stitting there....
