Thanks. Think I'll play with it advancing it and see how it goes. Hopefully temps stay low.

I've been using Castle stuff pretty much exclusively since my "return" to RC after many many years. With Castle, you can choose to let the ESC figure out the timing, so that is what I meant by turning it off. It works better unless you are racing. Do you have an auto timing thing on your ESC?

    Initial Brake: 10% ~ 80%
    Drake Brake: 0% ~ 30%

Whoops just saw this. Go with normal for timing.

I would love to check out Heidelberg. But if too far, happy to go Windsor.

See previous page for how you too can have a RC8Be! You need something bigger and better for future Windsor bash.

I have a BNIB Hobby Wing 150A ESC I bought for emergency. You can buy it from me if you want. $95 was the cost.

Call me the spare parts man.

The HW Xerun 150A is a great ESC btw. As you know I wouldn't buy something that isn't. You can even run sensored motor with it whereas you can't with the HPI Blur which is a castle MMM. Another great Chinese product.

Speaking of Chinese products, I've been eyeing a Team C T8Te. Team C is a relatively new entrance to the RC world from China. Some of the products are freaking fantastic.

Absolutely not. KV is too high. Didn't look properly but it looks like a 1/16th scale motor to me. If you want a cheap brushless option, look at the Hobby Wing range, or even Hobby King.

    not looking great..

roll call in the morning if the weather has a break?

Wednesday: Cloudy. Rain with heavy falls over the eastern suburbs, easing to scattered showers during the morning. Winds SW up to 40 km/h decreasing to 25 km/h later in the evening.

looks like you can still get the rc8be kit here?

Let's just call it off for tomorrow. Even if we get a dry hour or two, the ground would be too wet.

That website might look professional and all, but believe it or not it is a scam. Yup, a RC scam site! Its pretty well known.Just look at all their prices. If its too good to be true...

Ok, we did this today, and I found one.

Tell Finn if he sends uncle auR32 a street address by PM, he'll be the proud owner of a (probably working) Mãrklin train controller so he can complete his childhood with a working train set.

Also being the nice guy that I am, I will sell you the SkyFly radio that I bought as well which is blardy cheap yet perfect for use. It will store up to 10 models with the rx at $10 each! I will never buy another $300-400 radio system again. Anyway that is $55. I have no use for it yet so will wait till when I actually need it to buy another one. Both items are BNIB and never used. Ryan, can you please chime in on what electronics and drivetrain you bought. I don't think he wants to spend the kind of money I did for mine. Nor should he do so!

3ch 2.4Ghz with ability to set EPA, expo, D/R etc for $31

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...und_Radio.html

    150A ESC that's got great reviews $64

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Car_ESC_.html

2100kV motor that's well document to be kick ass with the RC8be

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_2100KV.html

There's another ESC option for $45 that's not too bad either

Thoughts WAY? Where's the skyfun Tx for $50?
As discussed on the phone Matty...if you mate wants one too, he will have to get the RC8.2e which is another $200. Assembly is pretty straight forward honestly. I would not get the radio Ryan suggested and stick to the one I suggested as it is a better radio and it's only $20 more.

Okay, let me know how much you want for the package and how I can get it from you.

Also, do you have a link to the new version?

Repair of the ESC is beyond my skill level as I actually pulled one of the pads off the PCB rather than just the solder joint

Wayne I'll take that ESC off your hands seeing as how a genuine replacement is double the price!

Haha looks like I will need to re-stock up on all my gears! On my shopping list today is a new buggy kit (will have to be something diff as RC8Be is no longer available), a new backup ESC (will buy the same one again) and a new radio (will buy same one again).

Anyway Matty, here is a link of the RC8.2e, which is the replacement for the RC8Be. It has 3mm longer chassis, slightly differently geometry for the shocks and a different body shell and that is it! It also doesn't come with tyres so relative to the run out price we got on the RC8Be, it is almost double the price! I have driven both and can't tell the difference. The changes were made on request of the factory race drivers to help them win races. For us bashers it makes no differnce whataoever. http://www.teamassociated.com/cars_a.../Factory_Team/

Today wasn't going to be possible at Windsor.

Richard, this is what OllieWAY and I got up to instead this morning. We hardly drive these cars in the dry anymore lol. These cars are the same as the Ken Block Fiesta that Matt has, just different body shells and wheels.
