Not sure how much savage brushless conversion cost, but the motor and ESC and radio can be had real cheap these days! If you want something that can handle on road as well as off road well, then I would buy a truggy. Or buggy if you don't need to go too rough off road. 1/8th scale stuff specifically. They are tough. But if you want to do serious off road bashing, then savage HP or Thunder Tiger MT4-G3 is your toy.

Btw, I think you need to move to melb lol.
Will do on the SPC. Battery arrives sometime next week and may give it a go soon after.
As for the summit i bought it when you got yours so no LVD.... BUT... I just purchased one of the new EVX-2's with LVD so i should be good to go.

Care to recommend a truggy? low maintenance and fun.. Was thinking 1/5 scale..

Is that Thunder Tiger stuff reliable/tough?

Also thinking of an RC tank ie tamiya.. lol

Lol. Did you seriously buy the kite? I haven't even tried mine yet. Can't wait to go home to replace OllieWAY's hinge pin and pop my A arm back in, because OllieWAY and I want to head back to Windsor soon. I might even replace my A-arm with the RPM one I have in my stockpile. For those uninitiated, RPM makes the best A arms. Still plastic so that it still flexes, but tons stronger than anything else out there.

Most of his stuff is from hobbyking. He and I both fly a flight controller called Copter Control, which is usually in hot demand as it's rock solid for < $100.

    His setup is:

    Hoverthings HT frame
    CopterControl flight controller
    NTM 1200kv motors
    18A turnigy plush ESCs
    gaui 8 inch props
    Gopro hero2
    600TVL OSD FPV camera
    800mW VTx (rated at 600mW at 12v)
    Cloverleaf antenna
    3000mah 3s lipo battery

Going to try and improve my FPV skills over the next couple of months. Then buzz matty in his kite!

No one really took any videos. I did take a couple of OllieWAY early on but that lasted like 5 mins before I took over his car and broke the hinge pin.

What is a power wing? I don't do drift cars so no idea. Having said that, Ryan's TT-01 Enzo is pretty cool!

Thunder Tiger MT4-G3 is the new benchmark in basher truck. Having said that I shattered a hinge pin today lol. But that is a known issue so if you just buy the aftermarket pins an replace them immediately, you will be right. Its a tough little rig and for once Australia is one of the cheapest place in the world to buy one. However this is a truggy based monster truck, so it's not hardcore like say the Savage HP. As for a real truggy, I don't know of any 1/5th scale. If you want 1/5th scale, go for Losi 5ive and convert it into brushless (which I am doing). Otherwise 8th scale truggies would be even tougher as it is 5kg vs 15kg! Unfortunately most 8th scale truggy is nitro. If you are not fussed about the cost, I would go with the Team Associated RC8T factory team edition and the Tekno V4 conversion kit. Then get a 1700kv Tekin RX8/T8 combo. Actually I wonder if the Castle system out of the XO-1 would fit. That would be pretty awesome!

Looks good I didn't realise they are better known for making helis. Maybe the next upgrade, having said that the stampede is pretty tough for the price, aston has crashed it pretty hard a few times and done some big jumps with only damage being the shell is cracking around the pins, probably fixed with some expoxy or race tape. Maybe Windsor siding is a different story though. Only disadvantage of the tiger is no waterproof electronics.

wayne power wing is razor scooter front half with like a deck on the back with two mini castor wheels that spin around hangs awesome drifts he he. Lent it to this ten yr old kid at the skate park and he was doing jumps on it in the bowl.

What is the next purchase Wayne an XO-1?

There were some massive jumps at Windsor today. Mostly by way. Mostly landed the right way as well.

Amazingly the 8bes held up well!

Like I said Ryan, it's all about controlling it in the air. I have to finesse the throttle and brakes constantly while in the air in those massive jumps, and the key word is finesse. It is a bit like flying a plane.

Richard, we discussed XO-1 a few pages back. I really have no interest in on road machines unless I have someone to play with. My dream though, is to buy a FG Formula 1, and convert that into brushless. Given no one has done that as an aftermarket kit, it is going to be more headache that it is worth which is why I have not done it yet.

Hey speaking of Razor guys, I have been wanting to get OllieWAY something like this Razor that you can buy in the US. http://www.razor.com/us/products/dune-buggy/

Anyone know of anything similar in Australia? Basically an electric kart is what I am after. There used to be something called Honda Minimoto but you can't get them anymore.

Can he ride a bike yet?

I'd be inclined to keep the motorised stuff to a minimum while he's going through what should be his most active phase of development.

As in riding a bike without training wheels? He won't try it, but I know he can balance because he can balance on his balanced bike. And Matty, how am I going to turn him into a F1 champ if I don't get him into one of these karts at 4??

WAY, If OllyWAY drives a kart like he drives a RC car, you need to think less Lewis Hamilton, more Takuma Sato

Hahaha Sato is more than I could ever muster so that will do me lol. Seriously though, I would love for him to get into karting, but Mrs WAY is not keen at all as you can imagine. I'm just letting OllieWAY do what I couldn't!

Zorg, this is what he rides. Bough it on NYE so it's only been a few months. He has a BMW balanced bike which I have no installed the padels, but he wouldn't even try it. He isn't the daring sort of kid, but now that he is almost 4 years and 3 months, I think it's time he shed those training wheels.

So is there like a proper way to make them do that?

Just don't hit anything as it will shatter! Apparently plastic is quite brittle like many HK RC.

    Agreed.

Pick up a TT01 (like mine) but the D version. Check ebay, they can be quite cheap, relatively hardy and plenty of parts. Get the Tx/Rx from Hk then.

wayne just get him out into a park flat with grass which is easy to ride on and if they fall won't hurt too much. Thats what I did with Aston and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. I also used to take him on the bike track and hold his bike next to mine while we were riding so he could get used to it. Have fun

Yep. Brushed, but still not too bad!

Be interested to see the Tunigy in real life.

Too much iPhone tard in this para.

With Mr Finn, who also has the BMW bike. I put the pedals on exactly one year after he got it.. and the bugger rode away, literally.. I held the seat for 30 seconds and he wobbled/rode off to the sunset.

Have you tried putting the pedals on the balance bike.. He might be more comfy with pedals on this if he's already mastered balance on it.

Finn is getting a bit big for his now, what's our next move ?
(if anybody wants a 2nd hand balance bike lemme know, it works a treat)

Yeah I meant I installed the pedals on the BMW bike, but he would not try it. Mr Finn need to go onto the Specialized Hotrock range like OllieWAY has.

reglued the pitts tonight, almost airworthy, after it's meeting with the ground!

Need some washers to put on one side of the motormounts, otherwise, it's off by ~5 degrees, thanks to the firewall being pushed back in. Might make it hard to fly straight otherwise!

Hobby King finally had the 2.4ghz RX's back in stock so my order should be shipping soon. They are on backorder again now.

Also what's a good price for a TT-01D kit? Toyworld 50m from me has one on the shelf

$200 Paul. Or at least that would be the price shipped if you buy from US. With small kits like that, you can buy from US and still make it worthwhile.

Anyone want to buy a RC bike? I will buy too if others are and we can race. Something like this. There is a duratrax one too for like $450 RTR.

Maybe. That guy is dodgy as though I might buy one of the Tamiya Big scale F1 car plastic kits they have. Seriously check the google reviews Pretty sure he did a dodgy on me when I bought some paint brushes there. Like I was sure I was missing some things when I got home

I seriously don't know how that place can ever have been making money. Ridiculous amounts of stock, ridiculous prices, ridiculous attitude from the staff.
