Not that you'll check H&F before you lift tomorrow, but good luck. I'm rooting for an epic total.

I ain't gonna lie, I kicked some ass today. Made weight at 99.9.
Squat-408/440/473 all good and deep.
Bench- 275/303/313 left some on the platform but wanted to conserve energy for DL.
DL- I signed up for DL only as well as full power because there's a guy that always does DL only but never has any competition. Went 501/551, he went 523/551 so I needed my last one because he weighed less than me. He missed 562 and I got 573 for a 22lb PR.
So, ended up 9/9 for 473.7/314/573 and a 1360.7 total which is a 75.7lb PR.
The whole team kicked ass, with five golds between the five of us and multiple PRs.

Pretty sad I haven't done a meet in a year and haven't gone up all that much since I've been doing this, but I finally have a meet on 12/3.
Plan is Squat 485/501/523, Bench 297/313/330, DL ? (testing tomorrow).
It's all about squats and deads.

Welp, didn't all go as planned.
Weighed in at 100.8 kilos, which is fine because I don't care at a local meet. But, I now wish I would have eaten more at Thanksgiving.
Squat:
485- Stalled halfway up from form issues, way tougher than an opener should be.
501- Grinder which blew out capillaries in my eyelids and shoulders, but got it.
523- No lift. Lighter opener and I think I would have had a better shot at this.
Bench:
297- Easy.
313- Fairly quick.
325- No lift. I think my bench is affected by my confidence. Mental game for me because I ****ing hate bench press. 7x5x275? No problem. 325x1? Can't do it.
DL:
507- I could really do this with one leg, but haven't pulled heavy that much lately so I wasn't sure where to start.
535- Slowed down halfway up but once it gets past my knees they all come up. Then, for some reason that escapes me, my left foot stepped back. Never done this in my life. No lift.
535- I was ****ing pissed off and smoked it. Probably should have done 551 but I wasn't calling my attempts.
1350 total. Down from last year because of the DL. Also made me lose the best Wilks total for the team. Frustrated but have a meet the last weekend in February and will be able to hit the goals I had for this meet. Need to fix a couple little things with my squat form to get better elbow drive, and am going to really work to bring my bench up.

*knocks dust off*
Booked my flight to Texas for USAPL Raw Nationals in August. Training cycle started today. I train the national level lifters do want to see where I stand against the top raw lifters in the country. Hoping for a top 5, but we'll see. It's go time.

Good luck , you have to get to that 1500 combined !
What weight class will you be going for this year ?
#259
I'll be a 220 for this. Was going to try to get down to 198 but would rather just go in strong and mid-weight class rather than have to water cut before my first national meet. 215 right now. Will be 198 in December.

Well, I can't just post when things go well, now can I?
Flew down to Austin Friday, drove up to Killeen, got checked in, weighed 99.8kg. Nice.
Meet Day
Officially weigh in at 97.5kg, which is the lightest I've ever been for a meet and wasn't a result of water cutting.
My training leading up to this meet was going really well up until three weeks out where everything kind of fell apart. Lots of squatting, but didn't pull over 500 due to not wanting to hurt myself before my first National. Bad idea when looking back on what I did wrong.
SQUAT
451- Clean
473- Slower but good
501- got 1/2 way up
BENCH
303- Flew up
319- Fairly easy
330- Again, about halfway up
At this point I'm pretty defeated mentally. I didn't know a single person there, and I knew that I wasn't going to get 501/330 and thus didn't.
Back was tightening up so the thought of bombing crept in.
DL
496- Fairly simple
512- Didn't move more than six inches
512- Didn't come off the floor.
At this point in time I was the most defeated I have ever been as a lifter. By myself, and four months of hard work didn't produce anything close to my goals. I have never pulled less than 520 in a meet before.
Overall I'm glad I went and will again next year. Watching some of the amazing lifters in the flesh was a cool experience, and I learned something about myself and how I need to train.
Cutting to 200 for the new 93kg class next year, and changing up how I train. Onward and upward.
It's all about squats and deads.

Switched back to a 5x5 for the next four weeks. Thie setup also has me doing squats three days a week, which is nice. I forgot how sore a 5x5 makes you compared to a 3x3. Still on course to hitting my goals at the end of the year.
