Be careful with those heavy twists, I'm almost positive that's how I jacked up my ribs. Popped one of them suckers right out

Alrigt, so after almost a two week layoff, I am back at it. Easing into it this week then going full force into a new program next week. The aches and pains have disappeared.
I have meets back to back on August 15th and 22nd, but I am just pulling at both so it shouldn't be too bad. Full meet in October. The meet on the 22nd doesn't have a raw class, so they aregonna be surprised when I smoke them and pull 600 without a suit or wraps!

It was nice to get back into heavy weight again this week.
      Tuesday squats went 385x5, 415x3

      Today DL went 435x2, 515x1
First time I have pulled in almost a month, with three weeks until another DL comp. Yowza.

Started my new schedule today, adding cardio back in and doing 3x10+ on all my accessory work.
      Bench- Barx20, 135x8, 185x5, 235x6, 2x5x255, 275x4
Incline DB Flys 3x10x60s- I suck at these
      Planks 3x60seconds
      Dips 3x12
      Pulldowns 3x10
Negative Pullup x3 (Suck at pullups, too)
      Bent Rows 3x10x185
      Tricep pushdowns 3x10x150
      CURLZZZZ 3x10x70
Only made it to 15 minutes on the elliptical, ****ty food intake this weekend caught up to me.....
Contemplating not lifting heavy stuff for awhile, pretty sure I am developing and issue with my right rotator cuff. Will probably stick with squats and DL, just switch to 10 rep sets on bench or something. Hell, might pick up a shirt.

No, I will never be a bodybuilder.
I have gotten too fat for my liking. Gonna see if I can get down to 210 and go from there. Also, gonna do a half marathon next June.
I have read a lot of stuff about doing ten rep sets for assistance stuff to increase strength. Just changing it up, we will see what happens.

First meet of the year report:
Headed up to the F*** The Card meet put on by Team Maniac at Local's Gym in Lynnwood, WA. They used two of the new SuperTraining Superlifts and I was impressed with how well they were designed and built. Nice work Chris! Great turnout with around 40 lifters competing.
      Squat-
      405- Easy opener
455- Went up like an opener. Thought about going for 500.
485- Went waaaaaaay too low and couldn't get out of the hole. I was really bummed
This was my first time squatting in a monolift so it was strange not walking out and setting up. Still, I should have blasted 485. Oh well.
      Bench-
      275- Easy opener
295- Surprisingly went up quick for a new meet PR
      315- No lift
Two things really bugged me about the bench. First, they used the monolift for the raw lifters which was fine but also used one of the 0-90 adjustable benches and when I set up for 315 my ass was right in the space between the two pads. Completely threw me off. Second, the weigh the weights worked out I had two minutes in between 295 and 315, plus there was confusion on who should be going next. By the time it got figured out I had 30 seconds to pull my wraps tight, hop on the bench, and un-rack the bar. Complete distraction.
      Deadlift-
      495- Easy opener
      535- Went up smooth
555- Wouldn't go past my knees.
I didn't bring much for food and was completely shot at the end.
      455/295/535= 1285 total PR
The more meets I do the better I am going to be able to decide on my different attempt weight jumps and also what to bring to eat. This was a fun meet with a great atmosphere.
Afterward Mark Bell talked for a bit and took questions. Chris Duffin also gave some guys some pointers. I would like to get down to Portland for some DL training with Chris.
Could have done a lot better, but okay results. I did take home some APT knee wraps for Best Raw Lifter. Thanks to everyone that helped make this meet happen.

Oh, and can you guess what kind of gym it took place at?

how confident are you in your bench form? having great form is said to give you an extra 30-40 lbs on your lift.

Yes, or hoping to. Need to drop five pounds this week. Shouldn't be a problem.
