I'm a little confused, please help?
You have listed several kits for the 02M/1.8T engine tranny combination which uses the 240mm clutch set up............yet several of the kits are listed with VR6 228MM components?
Will a VR6 clutch kit and a G60 flywheel retrofit into my 2002 GTI 337??????
Any info you could provide on this would be of great help : )
I'm really BROKE right now and my clutch and flywheel took a dump and the 240mm kits are much more expensive.
If this is possible, which bolts would I use to secure the flywheel to the crankshaft, the ones for the 240mm, or the 228mm set up?

The dish and offset of the 5 speed and 6 speeds flywheels are different and do not interchange.The only mfg that uses a VR6 pressure plate for A 6 speed 02M application is Eurospec Sport. The kit uses a 228MM 11 pound custom cast steel flywheel and a modified (for extra clamping force) VR6 pressure plate . It uses a stock Sachs 228mm full face disc w/ 23 spline center (from Audi 80) as opposed to the 28 spline for the 5 speed cars. We have had Clutchnet make us other discs for this application that would be stronger than the OE disc supplied in the ESS kit. ARP bolts are supplied with the ESS kits.
If you don't mind a little noise at idle then one of the ESS kits will be better on your budget.

Hi ... I am in the process of taking out my 02M tranny to fix the bell housing and was giving some thought to doing a small upgrade on my clutch (since it would be easy to replace now).Currently, I am running stock and may getting the REVO software early next year ... so I was thinking about your clutch kit 2M4198CFL28SOD. From your website, this would work on my 2003 AE GTI ... but was curious to know if there would be any "noise" issues with this base upgrade? Any of this "chatter" that I hear about ... or you mentioned about noise at idle?

Will the Kevlar disc hold 350hp on a car that is used for trackdays? I have a friend with the spec Kevlar disc and he complains that it heats up too easily and slips, he makes 340hp on his stg3+ setup. Is this ClutchNet Kevlar disc better or should i bite the bullet and go with the sprung 6 puck?thanks

The OE 6 speed flywheel is 26.5 pounds. I have heard the 12 lb one clatter at idle. The Steel 16.5 is a heavier unit that helps dampen engine impulse noises. The noise will vary from car to car, IMO the 16.5 is better than the 12.

Which one of these kits would go well on a daily driver with all the basic bolt-ons i.e. chip, exhaust, tip, etc.

The stock DM flywheel was designed for the unsprung hub disc. The aftermarket flywheel's have more dish that allow the extra clearance of flywheel bolts and the springs or spring covers on the clutch disc hub.
