Stéphane Pompougnac I also like.
Some might not consider the stuff I posted as house but whatever.

I've seen him about two weeks ago in Brooklyn. I got there late so I missed a lot of his set
thinking he will play all night or at least come on late. He went off around 2:30ish and 2 other dj's went on after him. I've notice that pattern from him from the other times I've seen him play so I should of known better. I actually bumped into him in the crowd after his set and gave him a pat on the back
(and holy crap he's shorter than he looks!) Anyway, it was good as always and had a lot of fun that night.

This song is sick!! It was in the movie Maestro. I am a huge house head and just found this thread. I wish I could have gone to the Paradise Garage, but was too young. Ruben Toro plays some sick stuff on 98.7 every Saturday night from midnight to 5.

Gotta check that out, I'm not sure if you can get it but 89.5 WSOU (Seton Hall college radio) plays a house set every Sunday night starting at 11 (i think) I use to stay up late listening to Solid State on KROCK years ago when it was still on. I miss that show. I remember specially when Woodstock 99 was going on I was waiting for the live broadcast from the rave hangar

Holy crap, you said "classic"... and it seems like not long ago (1999) I was the first person at Virgin Megastore in Manhattan buying this album (Surrender) when it first came out. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Oh yeah, this remix is pretty cool, Astralwerks sent me the mp3 in a newsletter as soon as it was out.

If you liek the chems, buy their new box set..the "electronic battle weapons" on CD2 alone are worth the $30

Why so much hate on BPM? I know its commercial like but in all honesty dance is just getting more popular by the day b/c ITS DANCE MUSIC.I am so tired of all this main stream hip hop, and rock and everything else...
all i listen to is house and some trance here and there but thats only b/c trance is what really brings everyone into the scene in the beginning. Think about how long tiesto has been around for example.
Before anyone says anything, Who likes robbie rivera and kaskadE?

Whats this style of House called?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06u0Oj2kyv0
track: underworld (antonio ocasio calor' rmx)
artist: praful
label: tribal winds (TW034)tribalistic deep house masterpiece. especially when the middle part starts it pushes me a lot. watch the sax, the percussion, the keys, everything. antonio ocasio is quite famous for his calor' rmxs, this one shows why.

Nothing wrong with BPM or commercial dance music. The problem is... even XM plays out a lot of the music on there. It just gets annoying..even if the song IS good... it sickens me after a while

I have no hate for XM81. (play a lot of DeadMau5)
The thing is like I have said before is that I got XM just for The Move.
I have heard so much good house music on there it was worth paying for. We have a station in Toronto (Z103.5) that plays most of what's on BPM. The Move played the deep underground stuff and some more main stream stuff as well. I can still remember when I heard Basement Jaxx "Be Free" I could not hit the song memory button fast enough.
So many late nights driving at 2am in the summer with the windows down, sunroof open just blasting the deep sounds so loud the bass would just flow right through my body and it was like my own sanctuary in my car.
The Move would play all that stuff. So many new DJ's & songs I have never heard. The other thing is that I also liked 82 for two reasons.
Oslo Nights & European Union. But that is gone to thanks to this monopoly merger. For me PVD, Tiesto & Paul Oakenfold have gotten "too commercial" IMO. I still feel connected to the deep smooth sounds of the underground and that will be missed now.
Heck, they even got rid of the old school rap 65 The Rhyme on XM. That is REAL HIP HOP! (and that will be missed too.)If you don't understand what im saying, just take a nice long listen to most the stuff I have posted. I like most music out there but I still feel connected to IMO "real House Music"

I love BPM.. but I am really upset with the loss of the Move. In any case, that station dug its own grave. When it went 100% house apparently the ratings dropped. Yes we love our house.. but there isn't enough of us in satrad land to support a 24/7 dance channel. I have hope that Area could eventually help to fill this void but early on you can't tell much of a difference between the two channels.I am really missing Chrome.. more than I thought i would.
John, I'm with you on that late night The Move cruises. thank god my windows are tinted hehe cause I sing and dance in the car.. people would think there is seriously something wrong with me

I hate Skyy.. but I am listening to BPM at 5 and 8 for DJ Armando. Occassionally he'll slip some house in there.

Preach on. Good to see there are still people out there that 'get it'. But i suppose this is why the underground stuff remains underground.....most real House just can't be made commercial. How many people are going to sit there listening to a 2 minute build-up before a song really gets going.

Not really a style that jumps out out me.I would say its more on the loungy, afro beat jazz tip.
I would check out DJ Oji and DJ Pope from Baltimore cause they play this type of stuff.
Also check out Tourtured Soul, they are another great great house band.
