LOL. I am 50/50 on it.
I wanted another DARE plate to match my Honda, but they stopped producing the black ones.

Just took the wheels off to clean them, front and back, and wow.

The brake dust from these factory pads is ridiculous.

Back of the wheels were pitch black and the calipers were getting there.

It's really too bad that this isn't a build thread. What, no pictures?!

We still have to meet up.

You have any idea about how to code for the Euro leds?

Yeah, vag-com has coding helper so it's pretty cut and dry. I think the only thing you need to code is for rear fog, and you need to add a jumper wire for it as well. I believe the led's are plug and play.

Keep the negative comments to yourself. Anything stupid anyone says will be reported to rich!

If you want to control comments try PSUR32.blogspot.com or something. This is a forum, not everyone's personal blog.

Other than the above assinine comment (and this one) I don't mind the thread.

    Thanks man.

Fixed the curbage on the rear wheel and it isn't noticeable at all. The only problem is that the tire is gashed up a little bit, but I am not replacing the tire with only 3,000 miles on it.

Also, added the H&R 12mm rear spacers. Looks pretty stellar.

any pics of this? I want to do a rear spacer and not sure with the size to go with. TIA

these aren't the greatest pics, but they are pics of some suspension upgrades including the very same spacers PSU now has on his R. that's H&R 12mm rear, and 5mm front (he doesn't have the front... yet). i'm pretty sure PSU's pics will be better than these, but you get the idea. i think it looks better in person walking around the car for sure.

LOL. Thanks man. I actually scrubbed the car the day after Christmas but it rained as soon as I was done... so it has been sitting ever since.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had the 5,000 mile service done January 27 and the car feels a lot better after the service. The same day I dropped in a K&N filter.

    Some pics of misc. mods:

Is there any advantage for putting spacers on the car performance wise or purely for looks?

handling changes for sure. whether it's an improvement or a compromise depends on your application. widening the rear will stabilize high speed cruising when pointed relatively straight, but will lessen the car's ability to turn in and compromise city driving some. widening the front can stabilize slightly on turn in, but will decrease the quickness of weight shift response.

i had front and rear spacers for about a year. i appreciated the road feel and handling on long road trips... the car felt more planted and stable above 85mph. however, at the track my car was the only of 3 MkV R's that had oversteer leading to a tail spin (ESP off).

in the end i removed the spacers as part of my effort to winterize my car. on removal immediately the car's suspension was more pliable and accepting of road bumps and irregularities, and it turned more quickly with more agility all around. however, it felt like a smaller car. i had 5mm front and 12mm rear spacers.

next experiment is to reinstall the 5mm spacers on the rear alone to see how it feels. i actually like the rear a little wider, just not 12mm wider. haven't tried less than 12mm yet, but i have a feeling it will be something i appreciate.
