well...updates/a story...
so we decided to rebuild the engine...cause of some oil burning issues and sluggish driving...
progress....
after ripping the engine out and apart we found that there was no existing oil ring in one cylinder and almost worn to none existence rod bearings. How the car was still running (nicely for that matter) I don't know
so we rebuilt. New rings, honed cylinders, new main and rod bearings...etc.
time to put it back in...
awesome...engine is in and running...got it back on the ground and figured why not take it for a boot...exciting isn't it!!!![]()
well....(let's remember next time to put the battery tie down bolt in.)
the battery slid into the fuel lines lit on fire and melted the hood, spark plug wires, fuel lines, and some wires....
on goes the rebuild....
resprayed the hood...re-ran some wires, replaced fuel lines and wires, and some coolant parts...all just in time to take it to June Jitter Bug...

Glad that you got the car running! You still thinking about those NOS bumpers?![]()
#358
I am actually. The euros are starting to sag like always. I was just thinking of how much the original bumpers would look good on this car

Haven't been on here for a very long time. Not too many updates to the car been in storage for a while. But this past season got third place at vagkraft.
Gonna try to do some clean up this spring.

So over the course of winter car in storage I've become lazy.... Lost the spark.... Looking to get back into it... But I got some decision making to do....
Looking for opinion.
1) about a year ago I bought bbs rs's......shortly after I came across the zender turbos. I've gotten a lot of icompliments on the turbos but I've always wanted to run bbs. Do I bother finishing the bbs to run on the GTI or keep the zenders and sell the bbs?
2) considering fuel system change. Currently running the CIS set up but I'm really bothered with changing the idel according to weather. I've just never really been satisfied with the cis. What would be the easiest set up for tuenrn the key and runs and idels.
Any thoughts![]()
