Thread: High Octane Gas in Denver (location?)

  1. 10-02-2008 11:36 AM #1
Does anyone know of locations for high octane gas in the Denver Metro Area aside from Bandimere? Several of the stations I used to use are now closed.

Any suggestions would be super helpful!

well, you could go to Centenial Air port and purchase some 100 octane Low Lead.

But i dont know is that lead level would be harmful to the cat.

How high of an octane are you looking for???

Looking for 100 or 104. I think even low lead will mess with the cat, and I don't really want to do that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

There's also a place off Union & SantaFe.

Go west on Union off of SF....take a right on your first street...go north about 2 blocks, and its right in front of you.

Awesome- thanks for all of the locations! I am going to fill up at 32nd and Wads.

100 LL has 4 times more lead in it then traditional leaded gasoline. dont put that in a car with a cat on it.

I called just about every station there and they are either out of business or only provide leaded. That's where I started. Thanks though!

Bummer the site owners aren't keeping that up. The Diamond Shamrock (?) on West Alameda has race gas.

if 85 is 320 and 91 339, I wonder today, not yesterday or next week, what you folks are paying for uber fuel 100 or 104? VERY interested but also kinda freaked at the prospect of a race eos

It's STUPID how few places carry high octane gas!! When I was in Westminster I'd goto 32nd and Wads for the Sunco gas or the Sinclair station off 56th and Sheridan in Arvada. I was in Arvada last weekend so I stopped in and mixed more than half a tank of 100 in with my 91 and set my APR to 93 mode. I was pissed to find out they charged me $6.99/Gallon when the damn pump said $5.99. But, it was hella fun driving up to Winter Park that night! Whoa! Now I want more go juice and can't seem to find hardly any self serve stations by the Springs or hardly anywhere. WTF!! Why don't stations have 93 anywhere!!! grrrrr. Apparently Chief Petroleum in the Springs has the VP-Racing gas but it's not self serve which kind of sucks.

BTW, here's a pretty cool site for sunco gas locator.

Do a w/m install, and run your 93oct or 100oct program. Just make sure to do some logs.

you could blend E85 into 91octane and get same results..
    http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

about a 3:1 ratio (91:E85) will get you 94 octane. and E85 is same price as 91... so......

Beware where you buy e85. Best to test quality before you pump from an unknown or a station that nobody has recommended yet.

Thanks for these ideas. I've been thinking about doing a meth kit so I can run my 93 program on 91 octane. Sounds like a great deal because $7/gallon is just a tad too much.
But it sure was fun on the hwy!!! w00t

There is a Farm Crest off of Garden of the Gods Rd (west of I-25) that sells 93, or at least they used to years ago when I lived down there. It is at Centennial and 30th.

Yeah, I noticed that on a sport bike high octane site. I called them and the guy said the don't have 93. I'll probably check it out anyway. 100 octane cost way to much so it would be good if more places carried 93.

"Closest" place I've found with 93oct is up in Cheyenne. I work up there so it works out for me. But just in case you are ever up that way. It's the Pilot Truck stop off I-80 on the far East end of town.

I just put in $25 on my way home from Arvada last Sunday. I went to the 32nd and Wadsworth for the Sunco 100 octane and it was $7.79!!! Whoa!! That's the most I've ever paid but at least it was put to good use on I25 where speed limit is 75mph! Still, crazy expensive.

I'm going to call Chief petrol in the springs and see how much their VP-racing gas cost.
