      Any deployed military discount

my wife is picking up a 20th for me tomorrow and taking it right to my mechanic. it has uni stage 1 chip and 2.5" apr dp and thats it. 100% perfect and stock except for those two things....

sooooo, ive been scouring the internet for like a week now and reading a **** ton on your kit, the pag parts kit and the atp kit. pretty sold on your kit over the other 2. but had a couple questions.

with the 50 trim kit (or going with the 60 trim < same price point why not?) what else do i HAVE to have to run this comfortably as a DD. is a fuel system upgrade mandatory? and does that just consist of the injectors and pump or is more needed. could this kit by itself be purchased and installed to what i have on it with no extras and be safely driven?

im not looking to squeeze every last hp i can out of it, i simply want a fun highway car that i will be shipping to germany once this deployment is over in a couple months. id like to see a safe and extremely smooth 300+whp

also, do you know if unitronics does an upgrade program for already having a program from them? or am i better off selling my ecu, getting a new one and getting the BT map?

this is my 2nd 20th but ive been out of the vw world for a little over 3 years now and i want to do it once and right this time, so any help is appreciated.

      thanks in advance

The 60trims surge on 1.8Ts for the most part, and thats not something you want (say no to compressor surge as it causes problems).

You'll need injectors and a pump is a good idea too, that's about it for fueling. If you get the unitronic chip tune/flash then you can upgrade from unitronic stock turbo to unitronic BT, you'd have to send them the ECU, but they give you credit for having their stock turbo chip/flash already. If you have any questions you can email myself or nik. clay @ ctsturbo.com or nik @ ctsturbo.com

      cheers,

      Clay

We're glad to help. Your kit is in production and should be on the way very soon.

      random question:

Do you sell downpipes for the kits that doesnt have the wastegate plumbed into it?

I love the sound of open dump

Here is a quick pic of the kit on my engine.

Gotten a lot of compliments on the quality of this kit. The welds and the fit are amazing from what everyone is saying. Unfortunately i still have yet to see it as im in germany now. lol

      Thanks again Clay

And if anyone is on the fence about how to go BT, id say this hands down and its not even done yet.

      I suggest a K04 and a high-flow manifold to fit your budget.

does ur car drive and run? have u had any problems with this kit? is it a good kit if i daily drive my car a lot? like i put a lot of miles on my car which is why im interested in apr stg 3 cause i know it puts great numbers out and retains stock like drivability! but if this kit is like that im interested in saving 2 grand!! haha

There are a variety of turbos available, if you want a big one it spools later, if you want the same turbo used in the APR stage 3+ kit then it will spool faster.

For your car I would go with a GT3071R 63ar, FMIC kit, injectors and software.

If you have any specific questions drop me a PM

APR makes a great kit. Our kits are generally used with bigger turbos, because people want more power. We often have customer asking us if they can upgrade, because they want more power after going with the stage 3 or stage 3+ kits. We have 100's of customers daily driving these kits with no drivability issues.

I DD my 20th with this kit and i love it.

granted i live in Germany and built this car purely for DDing on the autobahn to and from work, but still its great.

the turbo does have some lag but as long as you are in the right gear at the right rpm it will spool just fine.
