Here I go again! My new toy I just picked up today, 1982 rabbit LS 1.7FI 5 spd. hope you guys here can give me some direction on where to go with this. I am leaning towards a ABA swap just for reliability. Planning on coil overs and springs and all that. I know cars but this is my first VW so lines to parts and general info is what I am after. Thanks again to all you guys out there who are true enthusiasts and keeping the fun going. Unfortunatly I cannot put pics in this post yet so I guess thats the first thing I need to fix lol

well here she is the start of christmas end of school and the start of my 2.0 16v swap
day one get that 3spd auto the hell out of there here she is[IMG][/IMG]
the old engine[IMG][/IMG] getting her out of the car with the handy orange engine hoist
    [IMG][/IMG]
horraay its out [IMG][/IMG]now all the auto crap can get off[IMG][/IMG]
    it feels so nakiddd[IMG][/IMG]
the auto transmission was massive and i was glad to get rid of it off to the scrapper[IMG][/IMG]
new motor and tranny ready to go in[IMG][/IMG]
its soo much easer to go from under the car to put it in because then you arnt fillding with it above your car[IMG][/IMG]
    under goes the 16v[IMG][/IMG]
and she is in the car in under 2 days next is to hook up the cv's exaust and wire up the three plugs to the existing wiring and she should be ready to roll[IMG][/IMG]
if you are thinking of doing this and your car has cis its a really easy swap it just takes longer fo me because i had to convert my car to standard so that means that i had to switch the pedal assembly steering rack and get all the shifter linkidge
