Teaser trailer for Donnie Yen’s ‘Ip Man’
    By Mark Pollard • October 9, 2008

Easily the most anticipated martial arts movie of 2008 is IP MAN, the biopic of famed Wing Chun Grandmaster Yip Man (aka Ip Man), Bruce Lee’s kung fu teacher. The martial arts drama has been put together by the skilled team behind KILL ZONE (aka SPL) with Wilson Yip directing, Donnie Yen and Simon Yam starring, and Sammo Hung choreographing.

This teaser is a little different from the one posted at Twitch. Where that one shows behind-the-scenes footage, this one briefly shows actual film footage. The production looks very impressive and the action appears to be a stylized showcase of Wing Chun that should please kung fu enthusiasts and Hong Kong movie fans alike.

IP MAN is scheduled for release in Hong Kong in December.

    ACTION, ASIA, MARTIAL ARTS
The gang's getting back together, the Ip Man saga will get to the part of the story where Bruce Lee turns up, and this time it's happening in 3D.

Though star Donnie Yen had indicated shortly after the release of Ip Man 2 that he did not intend to return to the hugely popular series of biographical pictures about the life of Bruce Lee's mentor, sales agents Pegasus Motion Pictures have announced that they will be launching sales on the upcoming Ip Man 3D in Cannes and the entire original team is coming back - including Yen, producer Raymond Wong, writer Edmond Wong and director Wilson Yip. Lynn Hung and Yu Bo are currently slated to co-star and though the film is still listed in development they are aiming for a 2013 release date so they'll need to be gearing up soon.

What say you? Donnie Yen reprising one of the strongest roles of his career in 3D? Could be fun ...

IP Man? So is it about a Chinese guy who steals other people's intellectual property? Isn't that just a normal day in the life in China?

Eww, 3D? Can't studios leave well enough alone?

IP Man and IP Man 2 are awesome! Still waiting to see The Legend Is Born: Ip Man. Donnie Yen is not in this one but it should be entertaining.

both of Yen's IP Man were good. I may be biased as I like almost all of the movies Yen has been in.

Herman Yau's version was enjoyable and completely different.

Glad Yen is on board for the 3rd movie, sad that it'll be 3d.
