I had the same problem. If you look closely at the vac actuator, it's a Ford part (small wonder it breaks ). IIRC, it's off of an Explorer. I ordered a new one through a Ford parts place, but I had to cut and thread the shaft to make it work. You'll see what I mean if you go the same route. HTH.

      Edit: Found a pic.

You can't get it from the Ford dealer? The part number is right on it. You have to cut the shaft, which can be done with a Dremel tool, and then you need to thread the shaft with an M3 x 0.5 thread die, if I remember correctly. Take it to a machine shop if you can't buy the die and do it yourself.

I am in the same boat as you are but I need to fix the flapper my just rattles and sounds like crap however the body of my car looks like crap right now.(no job for a while so no moneys to make it pretty. When I get said job it will look pretty again eventually)

I was told that I had to send it to Schrick in Germany to get it repaired is there way that I can have it repaired here in the states without jamming it open permanently? I kind of like the job it was meant to do. Wow I can't believe it has gone up $1000k since I bought mine in 2003. Crazy shyte.

I want to refresh the topic
I'm looking for a service number in Ford Explorer because I don"t know where is it placed and I've lost mine during redecoration of my flat
I'd be very glad if someone could tell where to look for this number. A friend of mine has a Ford Explorer for parts so I could take it from him
