By the way, I'm aware of the David Tennant thread, but I thought I'd start an "official" Doctor Who thread since the other thread was specific to David Tennant.

I've tried to watch a few episodes, but I can't get into it.

I love it. I've had the previous 4 seasons sitting around for ages before I got around to watching it and now I'm hooked. Half way through season 4 and wanting more.

One of the best episodes that can stand on it's own even if you don't know much about Doctor Who.

I've been a HUGE fan ever since seeing my first episode "Pyramids Of Mars" in 1983!

I dunno, never got into it, I just prefer more science scifi to the wacky kind.

Could David Morrissey be the official 11th Doctor?
He will be playing along side Tennant in the upcoming Christmas episode of Doctor Who which is titled "The Next Doctor".hmmmmm...

I doubt David Morrissey will be the next Doctor. More like a likely a clever misdirection by Russ Davies like he did with last seasons finale.
This story about David Walliams just came out today.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new....htmlWalliams would be really cool but I personally am pulling for Rhys Ifans, that dude would make an excellent Doctor.

saw the latest episode of Doctor Who. Very easy to get attached to this corny show...lol. Latest episode had a corny ending. Knew his 'daughter' would regenerate..so why didnt the Doctor? LOL

Been watching Dr Who since 1985 when re-runs of the 5th doctor (Peter Davidson started airing on public TV here in Minneapolis). Longest running TV show EVER. 1st episode aired in the UK the day Kennedy was assassinated...

Love it. The theme is my wifes ring tone. People are either "Oh, that sounds nice" or "interesting...kinda modern, huh?" when they have no clue. Once or twice it's been recognized and they almost died. It does sound pretty effin' cool.

My ring tone is the Daleks' "Exterminate!" Tends to startle people but I like it... I got it and the Tardis de-materializing off of the BBC Doctor Who site.

Speaking of audio clips from Doctor Who... did you know that you can download a ton of short sound clips from the show from the BBC website?
Here's the link >>> http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/audio/ (Look for the "DOWNLOAD MP3" link when you bring up each one)
Also, here are some addictive little Doctor Who flash games you can play on the BBC website >>> http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/games/

Just started watching this... obviously, as a sci-fi fan, you have to be aware of it, I just never sat down and watched it (also didn't have BBC-A until a few months ago - that helps).
I like Tennant a lot, sucks he's leaving already. He's got a good wild-eyed zany "am I insane or not?" thing going on, great for the Doctor.

I'm out of the loop with Dr. Who, even though I used to watch all of the old original ones. What's up with her and the new Doctor? They look like they are both 12

Why is it, if a man kills another man in the heat of battle, it's called heroic? Yet if he kills a man in the heat of passion, it's called murder? Why is it, if a man commits mass murder on the battlefield, he's a hero? Yet if he does it at home, he's a mass murderer?

I know it. I'm reserving judgment until I see these youngsters in character. (These newbies haven't appeared on Doctor Who in the US on BBC America yet.)
The past few seasons of this "new" Doctor Who franchise has been filled with a lot of action. That said, I'm hoping the new (11th) Doctor and companion series will have even more action scenes (considering they're so young). That's one way to look at it...
The other way to look at it is....
Maybe with the huge success of franchises like Harry Potter, Twilight, etc.... they're trying to appeal to that market even more by bringing in a younger cast?
If it gets overly corny, there's always the show Torchwood from the same realm/universe as Doctor Who.
Great show, more "adult" than Doctor Who with many cross-over characters.

Honestly I thought it was one of the poorer episodes done. They were supposed to do 4 this year... two down and xmas to go so I guess they'll not do the 4th, or show it next year.
