The wifey and I have the Children of Earth mini-series box set DVDs, but we haven't watched them yet! We still have 3 more episodes on our DVR to catch up on before the Children of Earth episodes.
I know, we're way behind... those episodes were from last summer!

scariest/creepiest monster ever. Blink was amazing, one of my favourites, so I have hiiiiiiigh hopes for The Time of Angels.

I thought that it was top notch. Some great humour, very different storyline for the Daleks and Spitfires in space. What more do you want?
The jammy dodger bit was hilarious, maybe it's a British sense of humour thing. This new series gets better each week.

Modified by Dr Dub UK at 3:24 PM 4-18-2010I knew I'd catch some flak for that statement, but unfortunately, that's just how I feel about the daleks. the stories that involve them all bore me.
Now this week's episode however. ****ing ridiculous. I need to watch the second half! like, right now!

Having watched, in the last 2 months or so, all the Ecclestone and all the Tennant episodes, pretty much back to back (thank you netflix watch instant), then diving directly into Matt Smith, I genuinely feel like the newest shows are right in line with those other as far as tone, writing, setting, etc.
They did a KILLER job with the return of the Weeping Angels 2 parter, great stuff.
As for the Dalecks.... I see where you are coming from azn, I like them, but there is an element of old school cheese with them that you have to either embrace totally or they come off as a sort of caricature.
I've chosen to embrace them.![]()

I've done the same thing. I'm a new fan of Doctor Who and watched the whole series recently. I wasn't keen on Matt Smith as the Doctor when I first heard and saw him but I quite like him now. Though I don't like Karen Gillan much as the new assistant. Though I have liked any of them as much as Billie Piper.
#154
I do miss Billie a LOT but Karen Gillian is filling in very nicely.
#155
I've noticed that Russell T Davies' name is missing from the credits so far as a writer for all the current series episodes. Has he retired?
#156
Moffat (who is imo, by far the best writer) has taken over his position as head writer
#157
Russel T davies is still working on Sarah Jane adventures and Torchwood I believe. Matt Smith and Katy Manning (Jo Grant from the Pertwee era) are both guesting in the upcoming series of Sarah Jane.
Looks like the doctor has traded in the Tardis for a VW in Saturdays episode. Can't see a bay window Type 2 being bigger on the inside somehow.

It's really nice living very close to www.doctorwhostore.com
Over the weekend I got to try on a (10th Doctor) Doctor Who jacket. It's a REALLY nice coat and was in the price range of around $300.
It was very thick and had nice satin lining and was an overall NICE coat regardless of the Doctor Who connection!
It's also an officially licensed BBC Doctor Who product. The store also had a burgandy leather Martha Jones jacket.

Vampires of Venice is pretty good, sort of a "filler episode."

Finally caught the first two episodes of season 5. Not bad. I think he'll grow on me, but probably not as much as Tennant.

Amy's choice aired yesterday. Again a good episode that had kind of an Avengers vibe about it that I can't quite put my finger on. It's the return of the Silurians next week.

I finally watched the Vampires of Venice episode last night.
One of the funniest exchanges was between the Doctor and Rory (Amy's fiance) when the Doctor fessed up and told Rory that Amy kissed him....
Rory: "And you kissed her back?"
Doctor: "No, I kissed her mouth!"

I agree. My wife is still super skeptical though. I thought he was pretty good when he showed a little anger too. I was wondering how he would be when showing anger/concern/anxiety.... he obviously has the whole "hyper / mad-scientist" part of the character down pat.
Also... I found this recently online... funny stuff...

Enjoyed the Van Gogh episode, a bit light for sure, but I liked all the emotion especially at the end.

Having never seen a Dr. Who show before, I've watched the last two episodes.
I'm not really sold on it, but that red head keeps my interest.![]()
