Remind me never to do business again with Automax.

Went in to get a new remote key for my GLI on April 17th. They had the butt end of the key fob (the button part) in stock and gave me that part on the spot and said the actual key part will be in within a week or so. As you can see... that's well over a month ago. After calling no less than 5-8 times a week since then I've had to regive them my VIN no less than 3 times and they still have no clue whats going on with the damned key.

I'm going in tomorrow afternoon to turn in the keyfob part they gave me and demand my money back and then go to Hewlett or somewhere else to get the key as well as my sunroof drains cleaned out (Thanks class-action lawsuit!).

While Automax has its faults I strongly urge you not to burn your bridges.... they stock most of the surrounding dealers.

Well, I'm not gonna be a dick about it. Just ask if the key's come in yet and if not I'd just like a refund and return what I've gotten so far. And if I do get another key it'll be a while before I try to get one. I'd just like to know what is going on with the key and I can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone I've talked to each time I call. In total it was about $140 after tax total for both parts but I've only got one half that's currently doing me no good so right now its essentially like I just straight up just lost the money. Oh well no use in getting pissed off about it. That never really helps things out.

gotcha. Looks f*king awesome regardless. ♥

asstap (and the springs on the side) are in the process of finding a new home. I'm not even going to mention what I'm looking at because I'll be shunned. Bottom line: warranty, and something newer with the kids and new job in play. job = travel (alot). As always, affordability is always a key note. There's a few VW's in town, but closest dealership is 2 hours away. Timing belt and other heavy maintenance needs to be done, and just not having it. I know it's supposed to be part of the "love", but it's just not a good time right now. Local mom and pop shops won't have anything to do with a VW "Volkswagen? What's that? I've never seen one of those before" so she's up for adoption.

Look jerk... lol. I'm not doing anything that outrageous. That's just wrong. But yes, I am. I've thought about others, and a jeep was in the menu, but the pricetag isn't where we'd like for it to be. At least the kia still has a manny function. That's cool points.. ... right? O.o
The reasoning is NOT due to the fact of "needing soul in my life". Who the hell told you that? I'm trading due to reasons mentioned above. I'd throw down for another dub, but contemplating. Driving 2 hours to a dealership isn't exactly ... what's the word I'm looking for?.. worth it? We'll still have the rabbit, and Aaron can focus on the modifications he wants to, but as far as needing a second reliable car at the moment.. I have to let her go. Dont exactly have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to throw down to get her where she needs to be. All the miles have been put on Aarons car due to needed maintenance on the passat, and it's becoming a "problem" rolling in at 63k on a 2 year old car. Something's gotta change. And she just happens to be the pick of the litter.

So I found out what the deal was with my key at Automax. Apparently for the past 2 months they've been having problems with their ordering system with perfectly legitimate parts orders being put through then instantly being tagged as Deleted/Canceled. So my order was never placed in the first place. They put in the order again for me so hopefully I should have it by next weekend.

Nah.. no complaints here. Went in and they explained and showed me the problem with their computer system they had. Key order got cancelled/deleted as soon as it was entered in the system. They reordered and it should be there tomorrow if they were right when i called today.

Buy all of the following from the internet: Plugs (They only last ~50k, get OEM NGKs!), same with coil packs (seriously they are like 8-12 ea now or something stupid cheap), fuel filter, and air filter. 1stVWparts usually has pricing.

Wait for stuff to show up, then replace. "Tune up" complete
