I low sided at ~100 and walked away have it on video. Bike held up great, just need to lay some new fiberglass and maybe 40 bucks in sliders. Otherthan that I was pretty happy, so far looking at video my best lap is 1:52(not accurate via drunk math last night) record is 1:33 so I have WORK to do, but for still being "new" at track riding I was happy other guys a level up were doing 1:44s and I'm sure I have a 1:48ish somewhere on my video.

Edit: clicked a bunch of 1:55-57s w a best of 1:55.2. After some googling they are fairly respectable #s for intermediate riders! Even better for 1st time at the track

So it looks like we will be an all VW family soon. The wife has decided to trade/sell the Scion and has herself set on a VW. Gonna try to make a private sale with the scion first. If it doesn't go as hoped, then we will trade it in.

What model/trim are we going to get? .....

If your wanting us the guess..... Your getting the new Golf R!!

      If your asking for advice:

The model/trim just depends on your budget buddy, kinda forgot that unless all VW are in your range. Does she want a SUV, Sedan, two door, hatchback? Without knowing any preference I would go 2010 Jetta TDI (2010+ they really upgraded the features inside (Stereo, wheel controls, command center, etc)). There nice and get sweet MPG and most important they hold there value very well. They are pretty quick, goto Automax and test drive one and put it on "S" mode and smash the gas. My wife never drives it like that, but has had to use it to get out of some situations, so that's good to have.

I'm still looking for my wife. She likes the GLI and I like it to be a TDI. My wife could easly go a month on one tank. So after putting those together you get the TDI Cup Edition, but there so hard to find and people want a arm and a leg for them...it's a waiting game for me... May just end up with a nice TDI and call it a wrap

It will be a 2011/12 so Corrado is not an option (though I would own a new ScirOcco if I could get it US). Not asking for any guesses. Just not releasing the intention yet. It will be of 2 options and the .:R is not on her list .

Sorry about that. I was so busy working on my BEATLE that I rushed through that post. I really like the SCHEROCCO and would much rather drive that than a GULF, but I probably couldn't get away with it because of my illiteracy. The owners manuals are very hard to read. Especially the ones that come in the TIGWAN cause they have big words. They are not as complicated as the TOURAG, but still more complicated than the PISAWT. I would much rather drive any of those though over the ROOTAWN, because the it is so damn ugly. I am not a woman so the JEDDA is not even something I am worried about. I admit I don't know how to spell CORATOE, but those are hard to find anyway. My absolute favorite thing about VOLKESWAGGON though.....R32 IS SO PHUKIN EASY TO SPELL!

Went to Automax today. Chance I seen a MKV just like yours, owned by some girl. I said something about the GTG and she didn't seem interesting. She said "I wish I could have found a 2004 R32 DBP, but the automatics are impossible to find, so I got this one instead..." Wow, most people with a R32 know a little about them, guess I judged the cover of the book..

I met her a few months ago at Pets Mart. She was very polite and seemed to really enjoy her R. We talked a bit and she appeared to have a little bit of knowledge. She seemed to appreciate her car, but was not what I would call and enthusiast. I see her occasionally on Stan Schlueter Loop. I don't think Thursday nights came up.

Why can't they be 18"?? Always nice to have a extra set of wheels on hand. I was going to buy them $249.99, but your said your firm on $250.00. Oh well......

I pretty much blanket messaged every VW dealer in the Dallas, Philly, and Central Texas areas and so far its pretty much the same message as far as the Golf R goes: No word whatsoever on pricing, when preorders will open, or when the cars will even be in dealerships.

Thank god I don't have to worry about getting the car until next year or I'd really be going nuts like a bunch of the guys in the Golf R section of Vortex
