I'm in need of a set of the T4 tailight guards for my MVWK as my van was hit in a parking lot yesterday and one of mine was destroyedThe set I have is one of the only sets I have ever seen, but i'm hoping one of our European or British frioends on her may be able to help me out. The part number on these is 807 VAG 112 and they are listed as "Rear Lamp Guard - T4 Transporter / Caravelle".
I've searched all over the internet and can't seem to find them anywhere.
They look like this:

Not yet, but still hopeful. Do you think you might be able to inquire at your local dealer?

Sorry, I got a little lost in my auto to manual trans swap. I will give it a shot tomorrow.
#13
Cool, thanks! How's the swap going?

I have been researching soft coding the ECU to tell it to stop looking for input from the auto trans. I need drive shafts, clutch kit and flywheel to complete the install. The shipment with the transmission and all the other parts should show up this Friday or early next week.
My guess is I will need a week or two to get everything sorted out and swapped. I am sure there will be plenty of little things like reverse lights that I will need to figure out that will eat up time. I will try and document everything with photos and notes as I work through it.
#15
are you giving up on the trans swap?

Unfortunately yes. I have been calling around a lot to see who could reprogram or soft code the ECU. The guy from Baltimore who did the first one form Eastside Motor sports is no longer in business as far as I can tell. Basically because there was no model with manual in the 01-03 VR6 24v it would mean a complete custom reprogram. But for the guys with 96-00 EV's you can get and ECU from with factory settings to make stuff work. I talked with several tuners who said I would probably end up with a perpetual CEL and a whole host of other related issues with ESP, ABS, and Cruise. It can be done, I am not sure it would be worth some of the head ache here in Germany to try and make it happen. Getting a German to do something like this would be a challenge. Mark

Help!!!!!!

I'm thinking of making these & selling them. How many people would be interested in a set & what did they sell for when they were available at the dealer?
#21
what's the black rubber looking piece that sits on the outside edge for?
#22
It finishes off the front edge of the guard and is rounded.
#23
I just don't see the point of it & it looks out of place. Is it rubber or plastic? Waiting to hear back from my buddy on cost to replicate

I didn't get the rounded pieces with mine - they do visably stick out further on the outer edges, which does look a little weird. I am worried that i'll catch a branch etc, and that will rip off the protectors and the lens at the same time!I'm going back to Europe next month, but still haven't seen anymore for sale. I am searching for front bullbars for my van, so I would expect to have come across these if they come up.
You can sort-of see how far they stick out in this photo:

lol, what the hell was the point of leaving the roof on the Caddy trailer? It seems to me like it would be a big wind catcher & greatly increase drag thereby decreasing milage. I see you have to leave the C pillars since you're running a canopy but the roof?

That's where the BBQ is being installed.

We're fabricating a slightly aerodynamic front piece that will fold forwards to be a horizontal preparation table in front of the grille. Underneath the grille will be the propane tank, cooler, utensils etc. Trust me, we spent literally minutes drawing up the design for this beast.

I'm not sure what the reasoning was behind having the rubber trim piece.

Back from the depths!! Anyone here have a possible source? I'd still like to replace mine.

Ask the Lads at http://www.t4srus.co.uk/
They don't have them listed but I'm sure they'll let you know if they are still available

nice bullbar, where did you get this from?
They have plenty but in UK or Europe only !!
#33
ThanksI really love how rediculous it looks on the van
My company imports 40' ocean containers from Europe, so brought it over from the UK. I'm over here right now buying cars and parts, looked at about 6 vans today but nothing exciting - normal diesel engines, one piece transporter rear bumpers etc, but nothing worth the money. I did pause for a split second to think about putting a drivers side sliding side door on my van, but thankfully came to my senses quickly!
