Here's a new 29er I just built up. Thats a Ti frame from Bikes Direct. I decided to take a leap after seeing some great reports about the quality. It was only $675 after selling the reba fork it came with. I've seen enough moots and indy fab ti frames to know that the welds on my bike aren't as perfect as those frames but at 1/3-1/4 the cost it can't be beat. Its as nice as lynskey's production frames.

risers are on there, but i swapped the stem. i bought it off a shop in San Diego. the mechanic had it built for him, and i guess he didn't take into account he could barely touch his toes. it's a little less ridiculous looking now. not my cat either. old roomates cat. I hated that cat...

and the amount of spacers on there isn't too bad. i could drop it if i wanted to, but with a 4 degree rise stem it got a bit lower. rides freaking awesome.

My 2009 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR, best bike i've ever owned, out of the 3... 2000 GT Avalanche, 2002 Specialized Stumpjumper Pro, and now this:

I got my 1rst grade son his first geared bike. Felt Q24:

He was hitting 18MPH on his first real ride with it. He'd spin out at 12 with his 20" BMX.

Does a partially complete, super budget bike belong here?

It's not? I'll have to make sure and let Specialized know they sent me the wrong bike.

needs to go in the dirt to be a mountain bike.

you just have yourself a fancy hybrid there though.

It was in the dirt last week. I ride it on hard pack single track because even with the hybrid tires it'll do the trails around here with not much problem as my old one did. It's main use though for now is for urban assault and gravel greenways since I'm still getting my nerve back to go full out again after my accident last year.

Here's my previous bike (with hybrid tires) the weekend before I damn near tore my arm off....and here's where I rode it regularly

They make knobby tires for mountain bikes that get much better traction in dirt.
    Highly recommended.
