Thread: BFI PEM Software Upgrades for ABA & VR6

  1. 05-18-2009 04:24 PM #71
Yes the PEM's will work in OBD2 Passats as well

  2. 06-04-2009 11:53 AM #72
Any dyno runs of a VR6 stage 2 vs stock?

  3. 06-24-2009 11:57 AM #73
As to get accurate numbers, that would involve swapping cams then and there on the dyno, we havent had that opurtunity. But on the first page there is a dyno comparison between our VR6 Cam file and a GIAC cam chip on the same car, the same daym, swapped on the dyno.

    Hi,

I just ordered the PEM Stage 1 for my vr6

WoW, my GLX seem to go nowhere but with this chip, my vr6 got a new breathe. The feeling is smoother, longer. Improve at every RPM, you can feel kick under 3k.

    Thanks you

    Bruno

Any issues with which SN you have on your MkIII OBDII ABA motor ECU? (there aren't enough acronyms, I know).

My 2.0 is desperately searching. Have header, will get 270* cam, so chip is next. TIA!

Will the OBD2 VR6 chip ignore the leak detection pump also?

curious if anyone else experiences lean warmup's with the high compression file. This is probably just specific to my car but lately it tends to run like poo and stutter until it warms up for a few minutes. Its like a switch flips over at that point and it runs great.

That is sweet I just got a vr from ohio and it has a 42d test pipe and no SAI at all so If i get one of these I am guessing I will pass. Also I would told this might be BFI's old GTI the White one.

to be clear in PA i only have to pass a obdII emissions scan. I dont think it would pass a sniffer I am catless and it runs rich.

I love this PEM software. I had a giac cam chip and I must this chip pulls way harder. Plus no cat no SAI no CEL = a happy me and makes my car readness compliant to pass PA emissions

I got the 262 cams High compression one. A+ buy in my book.

i seem to be getting way better mileage now too

car now sounds excellent and pulls way hard most of the way through the tach

you need a vag com to do it right tho.

Would there be any benefit from getting a Stage 2 PEM for an 2.0L ABA with a Neuspeed 256 cam? Or should I just get a Stage 1?

  20. 10-20-2009 11:37 AM #90
I've put about 75 miles or so on my stage 1 pem software for my 96 Vr Gti. Car runs as good as ever, has way more life up top in the rpm range, and got rid of my everlong sai, and rear o2 problem. That along with the stage 1 BFI motormounts, and my car feels completely different.
The only thing I notice over the stock chip/ecu is a slightly slower warm up on cold starts. Really isn't an issue at all since I warm my car up before I drive it.

I would highly recommend this software to anybody.

  21. 10-20-2009 11:59 AM #91
Stage2 will give you the benefit of idle adjustment, but with only a 256* the diff will be minimal. If you ever plan to upgrade to a larger cam then I would get the stg2

You would be able to upgrade down the road if you wished, for a small fee.

will this fix my floater in my gas tank?? im off by a quarter tank

Adam: I've read throgh the posts and read that you do not need the ECU code to produce the chip, if this is true why do all the other manufacture ie neuspeed require it??

I'm runing a neuspeed super charger with a 260/256 cam running their software, 1. would runing a D eprom in an R ecu cause issues?? 2. Would your PEM get me better results? 3. Does PEM allow removal of the 2nd O2 or just negate it in calculations for fuel trim? 4. What are your pre-programed Idol timing advance with this chip?

    Thank you

Our PEM is not for any forced induction applications. We offer C2's full line of software for forced induction on our website.

  32. 12-19-2009 12:17 PM #102
All the C2 software is listed for Turbo App only... Do you know how it would affect performance on the S/C/????
