yes i know about the de fouler, but they no longer carry the deep ones that fit a o2 sensor in them like the one i linked,

so i would have to buy a o2 bung and weld it to the defouler so it would fit correctly, much easier for him to just buy a deep one. thats the only reason i linked it to him. if i still lived in the area i would have made him one.

I did not actually, although it doesn't change my opinion. Calling it OEM doesn't automatically mean it looks good, VW isn't infallible. They may not have copied themselves, but they were obviously trying to go for a similar design, and failed IMO.

Yeah, to each there own I guess. I look at the two and wonder how you can't see it. Obviously they're not identical, but to me they look very similar. I'm not a fan of any of the mk5 or the mk6 front ends.

they're all vaguely similar looking at them head on, just because of the 1 large center grille & the 2 smaller side grilles, but that's the design of like 80% of the front bumpers on the road today. the thunder bunny bumper has as much in common with an .:R32 bumper as it does an R34 skyline GT-R.

I like it too. I think because the bumper is black, it blends with the mesh making the grill seem bigger than it really is. Probably looks 10x better in person as well.

so im kinda thinking of getting rid of the 13s or atleast finding something else to use for daily driving and just use the 13s for show stuff.

dang motor is wearing out front tires pretty fast since they just spin.

so i ask what would look good on the car, as i still want wheels on it not just steelies (unless there wide and poke) throw your ideas out for me.

im almost thinking some 17in aristos and tuck the crap out of them.

Both the Mk6 and mk5 do a really good job of making the Mk4 look seriously out dated. I remember buying a MK4 new once. Lol, long time ago.

Lol that they do. I wish I liked the mk5 or mk6 as well as the mk4 so I could justify buying one. I spent almost a month looking at new cars, trying to figure out what I liked best... The best thing I could come up with was the CC. Maybe when the mk7 comes out I'll like that and get to buy a new car.

I'm excited to see what he does with it even though I don't like the front end. Hell, maybe he'll change my mind about mk5's.

Are you sure you don't mean arietta? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive they never made aristos as 17 inch wheels.

Arietta's look very similar, but were made as a 17. 7.5 wide with an et 38.

Personally I'd get some widened steelies if I were you. Either that or spend an arm and a leg and hunt down a set of borbet type A's... Those are my two favorite wheel types for mk2's.

Learn something new every day. 17's are still to big for a mk2 IMO.
