Brendan - That car had grounding issues when I had it. It might seem pretty basic, but double check all of your ground wires before you go too deep into trying to start it. After that, I have no clue, lol.

Well, a new maroon mk2 will be gracing the driveway this evening. Picking it up at 5, and going to take a drive with Beth to see how it does. I will post pics tomorrow.

^^^Yep, 16V GTI. It is a 1989, which makes it kind of a funny year with the small bumpers, but big doors. Once 1990-1992 hit, big bumpers were all the rage. Check the car out here, and tell your friends. I need to move some product.

Never intended to keep it, I bought it because it was a good deal. If it doesn't sell right away, then I will play with it, otherwise I am wanting to get this isht out of my driveway!

That is exactly how my 87 would have looked originally, except for the big doors. Black red stripe door cards, stick on fat side trim and all. IMO the best looking MK2 GTi's.

Yeah, I like it a lot. Wish it were white, lol. Lincoln, if you know anyone looking for a decent running 16v car, tell them to check it out. I will consider reasonable offers for sure !

An AEG intake mani would fix that. I want exterior pics now!

Mods= not happening on this motor. I'm going to fully enjoy stockness covered by warranty.

      I'll grab a pic in a min.

Kevin and I got the vr6 motor out of the passat tonight. I started to dissassemble it and I found a funny thing...the motor is not original. Early vr6 motors had a double upper chain, this is a single chain motor...doesn't change plans much, but it is annoying because now I can't do the chains till next week when I can get the kit swapped at IE.

I am buying paint for beth's car tomorrow. If it will stay dry for a few days then I'll be all set to paint .

      But Look it's out!!

We looked for a place to put it then we settled on the floor between the rest of his motors

Speak of the devil Tyler! I just came back from Ogden Auto Paint. I have evough materials to prime most of the car, and the engine bay. I also bought a single stage paint for the engine bay and door jambs. The car will be LB9A...otherwise known as Candy White from the mk5 line of Cars. I'm pretty excited to start!!
