Why would you go T4? And then such a big turbine housing? That is a VR6 sized turbine housing. How high are you trying to rev? The Evo guys are making great power on the .63 T3 housings and the guys that want more top end move to the .82 T3 housing. a .81 T4 housing is about the equivalent to a 1.06 T3 housing.

kevin suggested that, he said we could go with a t3 housing, but he also said we would be able to make power to 8k with what i have in my build, makes the gearing for the track a little easier, as of now i only use threw the top of 4th reving to 7k so to go to eight i would be in the sweet spot.

so the bigger housing is to get the utmost flow up high in the rpm range.

how much power are you looking to make? These two dyno's are 6262's with T3 housings and they are making power past 8k RPM. These are EVO dyno's though so their heads flow differently than VW heads.

Sure, spacers can be put on and off.

    Needed:
    1 - Jack
    1- breaker bar w/extension
    1- 17mm deep well socket

Also, you still owe me 100.00

Sooo, when my manifolds go directly into their own cats without a y pipe before it...where to I put a wideband?

Why do you want a wideband? The R32 runs two banks and each pre-cat O2 is a wideband sensor. You can log your A/F's with a Vag Com.

Such things will be helpful when running the worlds first CNG powered R32 - that I know of anyway.

That was the other thing I was having a bit of trouble finding and hadn't had the time to actually take a meter out and test, was the nature of the R's sensors. I supposed I could just tap into one of them but I wouldn't know if I had one lean bank or not.

pushing for at least 600 whp, which means i have to shove a crap load of air into 8 valves, which the evos dont have to fight they just flow and make power.

Turbine housing has nothing to do with how much air a turbo flows, that is all compressor wheel.

sorry that is true, straight from kevin,

You could make good power with the T3 .82 also, I just tend to overkill things on big power ABA recommendations because the engine itself is such a handicap.

We did 683 wheel hp on a 16v with a 6262 turbo and a .82 T3 housing, but it was 11:1 compression, 2.0 liters, on E85 fuel, and I'm sure it would have made more power with a T4 housing.

also im throwing the idea around of knife edging the crank, to help with rotational mass, cylinder head will have titanium keepers and what not to lighten it up to help this thing rev to 8k safetly,

is that something i should look into or not really.

also tyler does ie make a gurdle for that aba block, i saw your billet caps for the crank which will be used. just wondering ?

No, we do not have a girdle kit for ABA. Only 1.8T and FSI blocks at the moment.

Either option requires machine work. With replacement billet mains you have spacers that have to be machined to proper height for each individual main cap. With tall boy mains, they have to be machined down to proper height as well. Tall boys are the stronger option of the two.

Right. Since he's going with arp main studs he would need to get a align hone with stock, billet, or tall boy main caps anyway.
