      - not putting weights away, DB or clearing the BB number 1 for me
      - making loud grunts granted if your pushing 3 plates on anything go for it, if you got 25's on each side shut you lips
      - if your working in with someone clean up your sweat before i start in
      - also the person who sits on a machine after doing a set for 5 minutes, and wont let you work in
-dropping weights, DB or even the 25/35/45 plates

add if you have more, just what comes to mind for me

This ****er was curling in the only squat rack at school while I was waiting to squat and between every set he proceeded to talk on his cell phone. I almost lost it.

I was getting frustrated today...we have 4 benches that aren't attached to a rack of some sort. Two were taken up by guys resting their forarms on the edge doing wrist curls.

The other two had guys just sitting there resting b/t sets. I ask one of them if I can't work in. He ignores me, I ask again and he says sure, and want's to know if I want to use the same weight of 65lb..i pause to think for a sec b/c i usually warm up w/ 60's. Then he starts off w/ the drama of how they are probably not big enough and gives me one of these ....so I gave him a . He only did one more set and left.

Yeah, me and my bro's were doing wrist curls on some benches, me with 65's, then this real big guy comes up and asks me to work in.. i ignored him at first, but he persisted so I said sure. I asked him if he wanted to use the same weights as I'm using.. and he looked up at the ceiling, so i started giving him sh*t. He gave me the raised eyebrow ala "the Rock" circa 1999. I did one more set and then left.

      HATE THAT

Since the past four "that guy" threads have been canned since apparently talking about stuff that goes on at the gym isn't H&F related, I am gonna go ahaead and predict the same fate for this one. Also, it looks like talking about your progress with your Helath and Fitness isn't Health and Fitness related, either.

im not going to say this grinds my gears, but have you ever seen people use the calf raise machine to do quarter squats? i want to tell them but at the same time i don't want to embarrass them, so i let it go.

other than that i haven't seen any douchebaggery at my gym... yet. the weight area is generally not too busy and the only people in it are guys who are in decent to awesome shape.

technically that makes it a 3-way. especially if he/she didn't wash their hands in the restroom.

im NOT looking forward to all the new years resolutioners. it's going to suck finding parking, but since they are all noobs i know they will probably just be using cardio equipment.

oh another thing thats silly. people who park up on curbs and in illegal spots just to get close when theres TONS of parking in the back of the building. then they go in and jump on a hampster wheel.

I'll admit I have been guilty of this, but then again I only did it when the gym was freakin packed, 90% of the equipment was taken up at the time.

What's with the guys who stare at me while I do bicep curls in the squat rack? It makes me feel uncomfortable.

what really grinds my gears is walking into the gym ready to get **** done only to find weights, yoga balls, mats, belts, and whateverthe****else just ****ing left out and lying around the floor or the rack.

people that don't clean up after themselves piss me off to no end... worse than anything else really.

on top of the people who don't clean up after themselves, what makes it even worse is that the management at this club doesn't clean up after them either.

is it that hard to put the weights where they belong? it bugs the crap out of me to see 45s or 35s hung on the uppermost rack in front of the smaller weights. so much so that i have to practically re-organize the weights before i begin my workout.

    32. 12-23-2008 12:26 PM #32
it really has no impact on me personally, but it annoys me when people are on their cell phones...

x2 I usually notice the "once a weekers" on Saturday and Sunday.

Oh and another thing that grinds my gears is when people put the 50 lb DB's in the 55 lb spot. How hard is it to look down at the sticky saying "50 Lbs"??

    34. 12-23-2008 02:01 PM #34
This doesn't really anoy me but it's quite funny to watch. All week long at my gym, the leg machines that are right in front of the aerobics room hardly get used but on the weekend there are all these old pot belly farts that just hover around there just to sneak a peak in. One time one guy was pretending to work his legs with one plate for like 30 minutes. There is also a drinking fountain right in front too and funny how thirsty these guys get when they see some nice girls in spandex and tight tops

One thing that really pisses me off is how guys like to walk around and do stuff like shave or iron their clothes in the nude. Seriously, I'm not homophobic or anything but jeez you would think they were making themselves at home. Put on some damn clothes first

Last week I was almost going to snap on this guy who was on the lat pulldown machine. He was standing in front of it and chatting with two other guys he bumped into and I asked if he was almost done and he said one more set. So I went to get a drink and came back and he was still standing there chatting. So I sat down on a free bench and waitied 5 minutes. He could see me waiting and honestly the time he was shooting the $hit I could have finished my sets and left already. What was funny was that he only had like 35lbs on and the way he was grunting and grimacing while pulling it down you would think he had the entire 200lbs+ stack. I don't understand why people are so inconsiderate like that, even when I workout with my buddy we alternate using the machine like clock work and don't chat much except when we see each other doing the exercise wrong or give pointers.

this is the new thatguy thread.

people who don't rerack the weights are ****ing scumbags. it's sheer laziness. they might not want to get "too big" by lifting anything more than what's required for their specific movement. people who are able to talk on the phone while they work out aren't working out hard enough and are most likely wasting their time by being there.
