I might be able to coax my car into another journey south but now I am living even further away. Poor old car might not make it!

I'm still here and jonesing to drive my car with a bunch of fellow Corrado freaks.

Actually, I've been playing on my favorite AR15 websites. One can never have too many toys. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/zeroforum_graphics/grinsanta.gif" BORDER="0">

I'm going shooting Friday morning at American Shooting in Kearny Mesa... been awhile since I shot a decently set up AR. Want to bring out one of your toys for me to play with? I'll let you try out the Glock with the 33 round mags.

... oh, and you could bring that auto-dim mirror too

Oh and back to topic -- if Fidel can drive his Golf, I can too!! The Corrado *may* be done in three weeks, but I may have to take a trip up to Washington State, which would delay completion. So if no Corrado, I'll at least bring out the R32 to the GTG.

Although I know I can't be there, I can ask some of my raddo friends I know here in the valley of the sun if they'd like to go. I WILL, however be in LA to do a concert on Jan 10-11. My raddo won't be there but I will.

I had the same problem with my car. It definitely helps to have someone who is familiar with setting the ignition timing. Mine is still off and I need to smog my car soon!

Yeah, I need someone to help dial it in properly.

I have called many Mechanic's who claim it's all handled by the "computer" but that's not 100 percent accurate,
considering a timing mark, cam could be off by a notch or two.

I had VW Paradise set the timing to specs, but I think they may have goofed. Looking at my paperwork, I think they set the timing to
8 Degrees BTDC. Plus if a timing mark is off a notch...

    UGH!

TO EVERYONE WHO NEEDS THEIR G60 DIALED IN.
I can help with the timing, I can test your O2 sensors, etc. I have access to a shop with timing equipment etc. I might be able to fire up the dyno to do a static sniff test but no guarantees because we haven't used the dyno in a while, since I don't own the shop there might be a small service fee you pay the shop, it should be minimal considering the techs won't have to lift a finger, I'll do all the work for you guys.....
Only problem is I have a crazy work/life schedule so if you want we can all meet for a short tech day and roll out to the shop. who's down?
The shop is in La Mesa, I live in El Cajon.

No problem, I've been tinkering with G60s for about 8 years now and setting timing & such is just peanuts, I just need everyone to agree on a specific date so I can call the shop & make sure we have enough room for us. The shop is located in a bit of a tight spot.
Also I'm going to get a hold of the shop owner and ask him how much he'd like to collect for 3 cars or so, I guess 2 hours should be enough, yeah?

haha, if I had the equipment to do more why not? but I figure timing set/check - 15 minutes per car, o2 check - 5 minutes, setting co pot - 5 minutes... what's left?
oh by the way, I talked to the gentleman who owns the shop, he says how does $40 per car sound?

Just work your magic my man!

$40 for the owner works for me...
I'd like to pay you too of course, how much for your assistance?

Nothing, I miss hanging out with everyone, so being around you guys and a few corrados at the same place is my very own mini GTG, that's enough to make me happy.

so, Tech Day & smog test optimization corrado count is all I need
    so far we have

I'll vouch for Fidel knowing how to dial in the settings on a G60 and having all the proper equipment to do it.

Jeff (tachycardia) and I will be planning something in 2009 for the norcal/socal corrado groups to get together!!!!! STAY TUNED

I love the idea of a NorCal vs. SoCal gtg. I think Solvang (a little Dutch town just north of Santa Barbara) would be a great place for this.
I always down for an excuse to get out of town in the C.

Hey im back i got an idea for the people in sd.. how about a mini meet at the Q on the 9th. They are having the friday night runs and i think that would be a nice lil mini meet to setup. Also imma run my rad so that i can get a baseline on the car. Does anyone have extra axles.

woohooooo, the new euro bumper just came back from the shop for the VR golf, now I just have to worry about smog...
& the Corrado looks like it MIGHT be ready for a long drive when the time comes to do this... right now it hesitates while cruising, can't figure out what's wrong
I wanna roll both my vw's out to this meet, haha, I'm going to need a chance to photograph both of them anyway

I checked the weather and its gonna be 74 with no chance of rain so if yall do to have a mini meet we can come up with a time to leave or place to do a roll out there.

Nice offer - but G60's actually run *better* when they're dialed in correctly. VR6's don't have as much of a need for the initial ECU settings to be exact, but a G60 will run like crap if it's off by just a few percentage points on the COx or NOx.

Best for these guys to have Fidel do the basic tune for them. They'll pass smog, the cars will be faster and run better too!!
