This makes me very sad. A photography forum that has to have a dedicated thread for FILM.

this is like my 17 year old niece asking me if I had any old cameras. She wanted to take a photography class and needed an old camera. I told her she could use one of the cameras I learned on (Konica TC with the old mercury batteries) I told her she would just have to use some gaffers tape on the door (it has a slight light leak)

She looked at me funny and said no, I need a digital camera for the class. At the time I did not even have a digital camera (this was a few years back)

sadly, there is less and less room in this world for film, except to be nostalgic. that's just how technology goes.

film is akin to vinyl. there will always be a market, but always the minority.

this semester the local community college offered it's last introduction to photography (film) class. now they only offer intro to digital photography.

a bummer because i really wanted to take the film class again in the fall.

I love shooting film. I have been shooting it primarily for the past few months. Up until three days ago there was a nice layer of dust on my D2x. I even just picked up a MINT Nikon N2000 yesterday. My collection just keeps growing.

I've got the bug to get a real TLR and found a Yashica that should suit the bill, I'm just looking for some advice. Right now I've got some very basic TLR's I shoot with like an Argus Seventy-Five. Here are the ad details:

    YASHICA 24 Med Format TLR-MINT COND !!! - $125
One used but like NEW YASHICA 24 MEDIUM FORMAT CAMERA WITH F3.5 lens, Sight Hood, timer for self-portraits, etc. I bought it in the late 1960 and have had it packed away until recently. Takes clean, crisp pix. Everything works fine. No scratches, dents, no chipped paint.

Good body? What's a good price? He said he was flexible, I just don't want to overpay if I can prevent it. It uses 220 which is double the number of exposures as 120, so a roll goes much further.

    Thanks

Shot the color ones last year sometime. The b&w were for my photography class last semester, developed and printed myself. Scanner sucks though.

I shoot with a Pentax K1000, and Tokina 28-85mm glass.
