snappe I really like your last one

Here's a few of that dusk cityscape I re-shot on film. I ended up going with Kodak Ektar 100, shot with a Nikon N80 and Tamron 28-200 p.o.s. zoom.

I accidentally numbered these backwards when exported out of Aperture but ya get the point

I wish I could have had a slightly lower perspective on this last one to have the base of the bridge line up with the tree horizon in the background, but you can't win 'em all

I also have a roll of Porta 800 color negative in the on deck circle - any interesting ideas for what I should use that speed for? I'm thinking some hand held dusk street shooting to take advantage of the reflections on the roads during DC's new rain season (now).

the garbage truck was taken with the g2 and a tla 140 ttl flash the morning of hurricane irene. the camera is the best but i traded for the x100. im going to sell the x100 and then see what im going to do with the money.

i might rebuy the g2 but i need the money currently.

its just a bigger negative. the film comes in a roll like 35mm but its not in a can...its got a paper backing and captures more detail cause its a bigger negative. usually the camera is bigger also. film is exactly the same thou...so you can get portra or 160s or ektar whatever.

its cool cause there so much detail.

i like 645. its med format. its the smallest one. you get 16/32 shots and its 2.5 times the size of 35mm.

645 is nice and all, but if you're shooting medium format you might as well go big.

I just got off the phone with my lab and apparently I somehow managed to expose my F'ing roll of Portra 800 when I wound it and removed it from my OM-1

Wait, are you saying the film was exposed after you wound it into its home? How does that happen?

    16. 09-18-2011 10:43 PM #566
A few shots from my first roll of black and white ISO 400 film. These ones turned out pretty well I think. These are just straight scans from the negatives, no post processing.

I was reading though a blog I follow and I came across this interesting entry. I thought I'd share it here since it pertains to film photography.

It kinda relates to a forum that I lurk in.

I actually forget what brand it was, but yes it was slightly expired, only by a few months. But I think the grain is from the camera itself it had been sitting for a few years collecting dust.

    22. 09-19-2011 09:59 PM #572
nah grain is off the film. it might be super fast or old or stored wrong. also exposure affects grain too. dont sweat it the grain looks good. thumbs up.

if you dig black and white try a yellow or green filter.....google that its cheap

these were actually taken with a yellow filter i forgot about that. The film was sitting in the arm rest in my car for a few weeks, got pretty hot in there too if that has any effect on anything.

Damotron, you bought expired Neopan. Kent's scanner software also adds some nice corrections. ;D

Nope - it was complete operator error and I remember exactly when it happened. I was rewinding my OM1 and the winder became jammed and when I kept trying to un-jammify it I accidentally popped open the camera back for a split second. There was only a couple frames left so I thought some of it might be salvageable, but I thought wrong.

Worst part was that it happened while waiting in line at the lab; I could have easily just waited and borrowed one of their bags

      Just an all-around bad show.

In other news, I just renewed my flickr pro account so here are a few from the roll of B&W's that I dropped off with the color-fail roll

These were taken with my Nikon N80 and Nikkor 24 f/2.8

This didn't come out as planned. Next time will be a telephoto so the National Monument doesnt get so lost in the background

The dude who owned this bike was pretty out of his gourd...but I was in charge of guarding it while he shopped cvs for some snacks, and was successful in my duties

Ilford XP2 9 by delgiudice, on Flickr

I kind of like this film but it appears to be pretty unforgiving..it's the first Ilford I've used and I want to try more of their stuff
