Went to see this car today.. Its not the same car in the pics.. Sitting on 1985 golf steel rims.. Has a bit of rust.. Nothing nice about this car.. But nothing bad about it as well... Has new brakes on it.. I personally think there r better deals out there..

went to go see this last night, owner was a great guy has had the car since brand new in 79, hasnt driven it in about 10 years or so been sitting in a barn style garage.

at first thought he thought the floor was good, and when he last drove it it drove tip top and had no fuel issues at all.

    but after seeing it.

-the car isnt salvagable, floor has huge rot right through, arches are toast

plus side, its a round light german build, cream door cards are mint, so is the brown dash with wood grain bezel and 4 speed shifter.

    and has a hitch!

    but yah, not salvagable

called about this for my old man, apparently the turbo has been disconnected because it had "too much power". all the parts go with the car to keep it turbo'd tho, seems like a steal though.

    Re: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-car...81862

I went to check it out today, and sadly, the cake is a lie:

Turns out it's an EIP Tuning nightmare - the turbo intake to intercooler piping was in the trunk, the turbine blades and mouth were caked in dirt and grime from running w/o a filter, the tards had moved the intake pipe back onto the throttle body without a filter just so the m/a sensor would read, the intercooler piping was rusted to crap behind the grill inserts, there was no reverse lockout left on the tranny, the clutch had no pick-up at all, the tires were shot, the rotors were shot, the front calipers were hella rusty, the exhaust was a beat to crap OEM unit, the stereo was missing knobs and the display didn't work... I could go on. It couldn't even hold an idle haha - the guy was revving the crap out of it just to start it, all the while yelling 'you hear the turbine? yea!'

The only redeeming qualities it had were the bodywork and the Lindas. The guy was all 'yea aftermarket turbo, my mechanic says he doesn't want to touch it case he screws it up, so I been running it like this to bypass you know??' He then offered to let me take it for a spin, to which I calmly replied 'no thanks [because I'll probably not live to tell about it].' Instead I told him he's lucky it hasn't grenaded yet and to have a pleasant afternoon.
