Do any (specifically a 2001.5 1.8T) Passats have a fuel cutoff switch that activates during a crash?
Someone I know was telling me about such a device in new cars. He was telling me that is why when you see an accident where someone should be able to drive to the side of the road (like the spinout we saw today when someone biffed the concrete barrier) they lust sit there waiting for a tow.
He said there is usually a secret button somewhere in the car to reset the pump.
I thought it would be good to know if my car had one, just in case.

That kind of switch with the secret reset button is only common in Ford vehicles. However, some vehicles do cut the power to the fuel pump if the airbags deploy. But I don't think your Passat has either feature.
