For OEM parts, try NAPA, especially the small parts where you don't want to have to pay for shipping. ECS will rape you with shipping everytime.

as much as i love NAPA for seeming to always have what i need in stock, i absolutely HATE having to go there and wait 30 minutes for their 2 employees to get off the damn phone. i swear that place should just be a phone-order business, those things ring off the hook and they never have a moment for customers who actually walk into the store

I hear ya. Get in with them, and they do the opposite, just put everyone on hold while they help you, and never actually pick up their on-hold calls.
Recently I went to get some rotors and a fuel filter ordered, took me around 45 minutes. Between the phone calls, personal phone calls, and the idiot trying to help (must have been new, had to keep answering calls from his "doctor") it took far too long. I was going to have the parts department at work order them, but they would have had to mark up the parts. After all of that, I would have been fine with the mark up.

      ^^ 45min? yuck!

i dont work there so i cant say a whole lot, but i dont understand how their "Parts Catalog" can be efficient when it literally is a make-up of 40+ some odd 3,000 page paperback books. get with the times people, all that stuff should be in an online database where updates take seconds and you dont need to worry about getting the latest printing of a book. honestly, who uses books anymore? isnt that why apple now sells an iPad and amazon promotes their Kindle?

there's my Wednesday morning rant. so who's going to be out celebrating halloween this weekend? anyone got cool costume ideas? 1 friend of mine is going as the dancing robot from the LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem video. his costume looks awesome but when i asked him how he was going to drink with the big mask on he said 'oh sh*t, i didnt think of that'

We went into Napa on a Saturday AM and got right in and out, but the guy who waited on us thought something was funny about us wanting coolant hose. I left there with the feeling that if I ever saw the guy at the YMCA I would make sure I had "Soap on a rope".

OK... I know opinions are like a$$ holes, "everybody has one".
But...... I would rather clean up a big long fuzzy wet hairball (cat owners know the ones) then look at this car.

alright alright clearly i need to redeem myself from the last picture. is this better?

also i had a thought regarding "low" i was hoping someone could clarify (i'm thinking this is just a brainfart at the moment):
if you drive low you risk hitting the ground on a bump and smashing your oilpan, correct? well if youre on air and lay the car on the frame arent you also setting it down on its oilpan? couldnt this potentially crush it? i've never actually heard of anyone breaking an oilpan just because they parked their car air'd out for a few hours, but i dont understand why it wouldnt be a common thing.

like i said, i havent heard of this actually happening and cant figure out why because theres gotta be a good amount of weight sitting on that oilpan. this is 1 of those 'if it aint broke, dont fix it' kinda things and i wont do anything about it unless i do randomly happen to crush my pan, but it's just boggling my mind

You shouldn't be laying on your pan. Usually there are other things that hit before the pan. My car rests on bolts for the A arms. If you were laying on the pan you might still be alright with the movement allowed by the motor mounts. Pretty sure I put a small dent in my pan from bottoming out one day though.

      Awwwwwwwww, you poor thing.

Perhaps it is time for two cars? A car to drive and car to lay in the parking lot?

Even though I pay $.25 to send a text message, I sent him one tell him to "do the world a favor and drop your jetta off at the junkyard".

Totally worth it. Excited for a response.

His reply was pretty weak. Two texts. "Wat" and "F@ck off".

      That made my day.
