    Oops... New motor time

    Thanks Matt for the help

Torn down the corrado engine tonigt and found it to be a lot worse than I thought... Stuck valves, bent valve, melted piston, messed up cylinder, metal imbedded in head and pistons in all cylinders.

Someone decided to make a little bit of a mistake recently and decided the passenger rear side window on a certain mk3 GTI looks better in a billion pieces on the floor rather than in one piece and on the car. With that said, does anyone know anybody who might know of someone or somewhere I can get a replacement window? The classifieds have turned up nothing and no junkyards in a 400 mile radius have the one window I'm looking for. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Al over at Pag doesn't have anything big enough to handle cranks so he brought it to a machine shop he trusts in NY but like everyone said, most machine shops are always backed up... He is gonna call today and see if there are any new cranks around, if so I'll get a new crank if he has any local and just sell my crank thats being fixed for cheap... When I got my crank it was the last one in America so not too hopeful

    Man soo many problems.

I am thinking if I cant sell my car in time to get the TT I am looking at I might just keep it. I figure if I can pay the rest of it off by spring I would still keep it and buy a TT then. Few people interested but no real bites.

What crank is it that again that you have/had, and why is it so hard to find?

He needs to run duallys in the back and just make some huge fender flares to hide all the rust.

I think he should get those chrome trim pieces that go around the wheel well to cover it up. While you're at it, get more chrome strips that go around the doors. I see some ****ty mustangs around town rocking those all the time... It sure spruces up the look of the car.

I dont think they make 6" wide chrome strips to cover that hole. I agree those strips seem to always find their way onto Mustangs.

It's out of a 2.0 fsi turbo So everyone that strokes there engines uses this crank so I'm sure when Vw made extras they didn't expect to go through so many as stroking the 1.8t is pretty common now. Also when you get this crank it needs a different oil pump gear pressed on to replace the one it comes with. I actually have a spare gear already. Waiting for a reply from Al to see if there are any other ones around.

Did you get the whole drop in housing unit or just the pump itself?

If you got only the pump and plan on dropping into the old housing, be careful with whatever you decide to use for fuel lines. My first pumped died at 45k, and then I went through 2 more in the next 5-10k. After months of trying to track down why my pumps kept dying (thought it was an electrical issue for the longest time), I finally figured out that the new fuel line that I used was being pinched when it was pushed into the tank, making the pump work too hard, causing failure. Bought a whole brand new drop in unit from GAP for like $180 and all is well now.
